I have tried five of these types of lamps and this is far and away the best one. It is much brighter than anything in the <$30 range despite only claiming to be 500 lumens and having fewer led beads. Other advantages include high quality plastic, rounded base, ability to twist the head sideways, and two charging ports on the side. Compared to similar lights, this model has a very sturdy power block as opposed to a usb connector and the cable is plenty long. The only downside is no rotation at the base. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to write one for this Honeywell desk lamp. I wanted to acknowledge that for a highly reasonable price, about $30, I got an incredibly functional, lightweight lamp that is just what I wanted. What sets it apart from other similar lamps is that the light bar swivels so that I can shine light truly where I want to. I like the fact that the dimming is done using a plus-minus bar on the lamp base. The options for different colors are obtained intuitively, and the result is very pleasing. In addition, when I don't want the light at all, it folds up and goes behind my computer screen, out-of-the-way. Brilliant. I have had other desk lamps which are a nuisance because I bump into them inadvertently. But with this one, I can take it out only when I want to. Furthermore, I can have exceptionally bright light or at night very dim light. So, I would highly recommend this lamp. ... show more

Moving into an apartment after nine years on the road in an RV, we're setting up a "guest room" with a desk so two of our older grandsons can study between swim team sessions at the Y next door. My wife found a restored Scandinavian style desk for the room and this desk lamp, being simple with clean lines, fits right in. It also gives off excellent light for studying and can be arranged so it won't glare or reflect off of a laptop screen. I love it! It looks very out of place on my bedside table BUT-the light dims to night light power and with a swipe of the base you can raise or lower the brightness. The lamp itself will position to just about any direction you might want: focused on the bed for reading, (medium light), turned away from the bed for ambient night light,etc. I'm still learning all the neat ways I'll be able to use this lamp. Good news - it arrived entirely assembled.. My only complaint is the base should be heavier - my exploring feline knocked it over. ... show more
