This has to be one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. My elderly mother lives at home with a live in caregiver. She often sleeps in her recliner chair and no matter how we've tried to prop up her head as she sleeps, my mother's head invariably falls to the side. With this memory foam pillow, her head is held up and she no longer ends up with a stiff neck etc. It's soft and yet easily molded to her neck and head. My spouse is living with advanced cancer and has difficulty with comfort and support. This has been the best gift and answer to his needs. He is mostly in the recliner and this travel pillow supports his neck perfectly while is able to work and sleep. It was so amazing I bought a second one because I have been experiencing shoulder and back pain. Since sleeping with this at night, I have not had back pain. I have also used it for shoulder pain and place it strategically to support my problematic elbow and shoulder while I sleep. It's so versatile. We bring this in the car and it has helped with lumbar support as well. I will be ordering several more for multiple uses. The design, flexibility, and the firmness is just right.

The foam itself... it is memory foam, but it doesn't remember much. But that's fine. It's still very comfortable foam. You'll probably mostly use it in a U-shape. I do. And that may make the malleable shape seem like a gimmick, but it's not a gimmick. It's very good. The fact that it holds its shape adds a lot for the support of the pillow, much like what you're hoping a large premium memory foam pillow will do. Once it's behind my head, I press my head into "the spot" to make the armature form to hug my head how I want it. What that spot is, will be slightly different for each person. You'll notice that it still makes a U shape, but with some small differences that are important. Your variant on the U will probably be different from mine, depending on where on your head you place it. And even if used just as the classic U, the armature adds some much-needed support that other travel pillows don't have. I have to use it unfastened, or else I can't get it into the spot that I want. I really wish it was longer; part of the support, at least in how I use it, comes from the shoulders, and it needs more length to utilize that to the fullest potential. I'm glad I saw another of the reviews with images. Kudos to them for warning us that it could break easily. Better not twist it, or bend it too sharply. I notice that the outer surface of the foam gets pulled very tight when the core is bent. That's not a good thing. Hopefully, with some extra care, it will last a good long time. Cutting a sausage comes to mind. When you bend a sausage, bends a little, until the tension overcomes the case, and it splits into two pieces. But if you put many shallow cuts into the sausage, then you can bend it quite a lot without it breaking. Perhaps some day, I'll get a second one, and try putting some shallow cuts in the foam to see if that prevents the foam from snapping apart. Maybe they'll even sell one like that, by the time I come back for another. My experience with the kind of foam that's inside of it, is that you shouldn't expose it to heat and you should keep it away from chemicals. And of course, keep it away from moisture and dirt, because the foam is porous and will trap it inside to become a bio hazard. Little ball joint armatures... assuming that's what this uses, will tend to wear out and get loose after a few years. So, that's another reason to be nice to it. If it doesn't break or wear out too fast, then this may be my pillow of choice for the rest of my life. Unless they make a longer one. Then, I'll buy that one every time I need a new one, and I'll be happy about it. I'm happy that I bought this pillow.

Needed a new travel pillow and thought this one looked like it would fit my needs.I haven't tried it on a plane yet but have been trying it out for some added neck support while reclining on my sofa. It's very comfortable and can be twisted to fit different positions. The memory foam is very forgiving. The cover is soft. I love that I can wash it. I see lots of travel in my future with this unique travel pillow.

I am a person who suffers from cervical dystonia which is a very painful disorder of the neck. I had been searching for a new travel pillow when I discovered this crazy looking thing. It looked clever enough to try. I try so many things and nothing ever seems to help me with the pain and discomfort of the dystonia. Until I tried this! I can adjust it to support my neck in any direction I choose! It's sturdy and well made. It folds up nice and compact when I need it to and it pulls out of my tote bag and supports me whenever and wherever I need it to! I LOVE THIS THING!

They are very comfortable, and love the adjustable position design so you can bend it to use behind your neck or to lean against the window on a plane etc. The coverings are removable so can be washed. I used it for several long flights. The snap at the bottom makes it easy to carry on the bag for the airport journeys. DEFINITELY won’t loose it. Good flexibility. Wish it could have had more softness around the neck area. It gave the neck great support, BUT …...a little too firm
