I gives off just enough light to be comfortable when sitting out at night. With mounting holes above each light it was a snap to hang. I got this to put up along some stairs I have. The warm white light is quite nice, and bright enough to illuminate the stairs such that almost anyone could see. The colours, however, are very dim. I had originally intended to use this string above my yard, but it was too dim in colour mode to be useful. So I moved it to my stairs, where the string is about 6' above the ground. In this location, the dimness of a colour isn't as bad. The colours themselves are quite nice, and while the way the bulbs are constructed doesn't have any prismatic effect for the light; the LEDs are in the base, and pretty much aim only down (some sets have either the LEDs themselves in a stalk within the bulb, or use a stalk that channels light away from the base), the string overall looks nice. I'd say this is a nice compromise of colour capability, brightness, and price. I'd have preferred two-foot spacing (i.e. 24 bulbs for a 48' span), but the 3' wasn't that bad once I moved them closer to the ground. Hopefully this helps you with your evaluation. I will note the string does retain its color settings; I use it with a Wemo smart plug and it comes on every night with whatever colour and brightness settings I'd left it at last time. I would recommend.

These lights are NOT bright at all. In addition to that you cannot turn them off without unplugging. I had them set up and used the remote to turn them off... 10 minutes later I saw they were on so I used the remote to turn them off.... 10 minutes later on again.... this cycle repeated for a few hours until I just unplugged them. Most likely there is a better option out there

We bought 9 sets since Nov 2020 It's been 1 year 2 months. They have been on dust to dawn the entire time - so the lights are on about 14 hours Winter and 9 hours Summer. The bulbs DO NOT collect or get moisture or water inside them. Inside the l 141 ight bulbs they are 100% dry. We have had to replace 14 bulbs , out of a total of 141 bulbs that are lit. That's not to bad. All outdoors in all 4 Seasons hanging on our fence. The timer box, we have two set up - both work off the remote controls. One timer is 15 ft away ( under our carport) and the other sets 280 feet away, down near the river -wrapped in a zip lock bag. These lights are truly waterproof, but not Submersible... BEST LIGHT PACKAGE on the market for the price. Hampton Bay sells lights similar to these, but they retail at $250 per box or higher. Honey Well simply - The Best " Thank you for making a quality product and not skinning us alive to pay for them"

I had issues right out of the box not once, but twice. I returned 2 strings of these lights. First string didn't have the remote and second string had 2 bulbs that were bad and didn't work. The return process was very easy and I finally got them up and all is well. They're a great accent light for the patio.
