Perfect for fermenting under pressure. I set it at 10 psi and mark the adjuster and body with a permanent marker in case it gets bumped when not in use. Functions perfectly, easy to assemble out of the box (make sure you get the check valve in the right direction). I don't think I could scrap one of these together for this cheap! A vital tool for Cornelius Keg fermentation as it maintains a constant pressure in the keg. The spunding valve assembly for the ball lock keg comes in multiple parts that are all push-fit so assembly is simple and obvious.

These BlowTie plastic Spunding regulators are amazingly accurate. I already have one of the models with the integrated pressure gauge, but it's hard to read and only goes to 15 PSI. It's also nice to use this to decompress when doing transfers, so you avoid foam overflows. You can also put a long clear tube between the ball lock connector and the valve/gauge and use it to know when you serving keg is filled without filling the valve/gauge with beer ... show more

This appears to be very similar to the Kegland spunding valve kit. Although these parts look cheap and plasticky, they do work very well. This product is designed to fit on the air post of a Cornelius keg and vent the pressure inside the keg until the mechanically set pressure is achieved. The assembled system appears to be quite fragile – it uses Duotight style push-fit connectors to connect things up. Although these fittings appear to be fairly loose and the gauge will twist in its fitting under the force of gravity, everything appears to be very leak-tight so I shouldn’t complain. The pressure inside the keg is adjusted by a threaded handle. This has to be rotated clockwise to raise the pressure (reduce the venting) and anticlockwise to reduce the pressure or even fully vent the keg. This handle was rough to rotate but was much smoother after applying some food-grade grease. This spunding valve can be used for pressurized fermentations and keg-to-keg transfers of pressurized beer but I will be using it mainly to de-gas over-pressurized beer in kegs. ... show more
