The arm rests are moveable, you can have the up out of the way or down to rest your arms on. My third chair from this company—our family loves their chairs! This one took a bit longer to assemble but the quality and attention to detail of the parts is definitely better than the other two chairs I have. Also there’s no weird plastic smell. This chair is it’s more on the harder side, so would be great for those with back pains or a preference for sturdier chairs. It’s also very minimalist and sleek.
