I have three cats, and keeping up with their litter box situation used to be a never-ending chore. I was scooping at least twice a day, and the smell was starting to become a real problem. After researching self-cleaning litter boxes for weeks, I finally decided on the HIMIX self-cleaning litter box, and I can confidently say this was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Setup & First Impressions: The box arrived very well-packaged, and setting it up was straightforward. It took me about 15 minutes to put everything together and sync it with the app. The instructions were clear, and the APP connectivity was smooth—I could monitor everything from my phone within minutes. Performance & Features: This litter box is extremely spacious, which is perfect for multi-cat households. My three cats took to it quickly, and I was shocked by how quiet the cleaning cycle is. I was expecting some loud motor noise, but it's actually quieter than my dishwasher. The automatic cleaning process works flawlessly. After my cats do their business, the litter box waits a few minutes and then sifts out the waste, depositing it into a sealed waste compartment. This means no more daily scooping for me! PS: The time can be adjusted on the mobile APP. It is recommended to start cleaning 20 minutes after the cat goes to the toilet. This is also the recommended time given by the merchant! The odor control is phenomenal. The aromatherapy box is a great addition, and I noticed an immediate difference in how fresh my house smells. Even when I forget to empty the waste compartment for a day or two, there’s virtually no smell. Smart App & Monitoring: One of my favorite things about this litter box is the app integration. The app tells me: ✅ How often my cats are using the box ✅ If there are any issues with the machine. This is incredibly helpful, especially since I travel for work sometimes. I love that I can check on my cats' bathroom habits from anywhere, which is great for monitoring their health. Safety Features: I was worried that my cats might get scared of the cleaning process, but the infrared sensors ensure that it never starts cleaning while a cat is inside. My cats adapted to it within two days, and now they prefer this litter box over their old one. Maintenance & Cleaning: The waste bin is large enough that I only need to empty it once every 5-6 days for three cats, which is a huge time-saver. Refilling litter is also less frequent than with traditional litter boxes since it doesn’t get dirty as quickly. I use clumping litter, and it works perfectly with the system. Final Thoughts: At first, I was hesitant about the price, but after using it for a month, I can confidently say this is worth every penny. My cat, Whiskers, is 14 years old, and I wanted a low-maintenance litter box that wouldn’t stress him out. The HIMIX self-cleaning litter box has been a lifesaver! Getting My Senior Cat to Use It I was initially worried about transitioning an older cat to a new litter box, but I followed the instructions: 🐾 Placed it next to his old box for a few days 🐾 Added some used litter to help him recognize it 🐾 Let him explore without turning on the self-cleaning cycle right away By day three, he was using it exclusively! The infrared sensors are a great feature—Whiskers is slow-moving, but the box waits until he’s fully out before starting a cleaning cycle. Odor Control & Waste Management Since Whiskers is older, he pees more frequently, and his litter box used to smell terrible. With this system, I never smell urine anymore. The waste compartment is sealed so well that even when I open it to empty it, the smell is minimal. It is recommended that you clean the litter 20 minutes after the cat leaves, because different cat litters will clump at different times when in contact with cat urine. App Features & Maintenance I love the app notifications because they remind me when to empty the waste bin or refill the litter. Since I sometimes forget these things, it’s super helpful. I also love that the app tracks usage—this is important for senior cats, since changes in bathroom habits can indicate health issues. I was very hesitant about buying any automated litter box, this item is not cheap for a general family. I researched different ones and really liked this one for the looks, the mobile app, how low it was to the ground and the price. Our cats were very curious about the liter box as I was setting it up. Since I didn’t want him to freak out I didn’t even plug it in at first. I added the litter and they went in immediately. I later plugged it in but kept it on manual mode. This way the cats wouldn’t see it randomly start moving after they used it. After a couple days they would watch me manually hit the clean function as they watched with great curiosity. So I finally turned on the auto clean function. I’m keeping it at 20 minutes after they use it because they recommend allowing the litter to dry up before it spins around so it doesn’t create a mess. I highly recommend keeping it at 20-30 minutes. (I originally kept it at 50 minutes but noticed sometimes it needs to be cleaned faster. Overall I like it and recommend it.
