This is an insanely nice camera I use these cameras daily for property and mold inspections. I’m coming from a Flir C5 and Flir E4 hacked to an E8 and this is way more clear than those which is nuts. The resolution is fantastic and the super IR that boosts it up to 320x240 is noticeable better. The screen loading hertz is way better than my other thermal camera last it goes to around 24 HZ you definitely notice the difference while quickly scanning rooms there’s no load time. I’m going HIKMICRO from now on I use to use nothing but Flir but they have some competition now that’s for sure.

Wasn't sure what to expect from this brand that I had never heard of before but I was very pleasantly surprised. The camera comes in a nice package with foam cutouts for the camera, the cord, and documentation. While I was disappointed it didn't come with a case to hold it in, the box is an OK replacement. I was VERY pleased to see the camera is USB C charged and this kit came with a power adaptor and cord. I was up and running in under a minute as the unit had a partial charge on it out of the box. The display is very bright for a unit at this price point and is very easy to read. I figured out the menu system almost immediately. Its very simple and intuitive to use. I set the time and date and made sure units were in C. Inside the menu system you can access saved pictures and video as well. Of course there are the typical color profiles for visualization but I kept it on "Ironbow" for this review. White hot is also one of my favorites. Getting back to the main screen, I was able to start pointing and taking pictures immediately. No muss, no fuss. You get the thermal sensor output plus your interface as shown on my images attached to this review. Temperatures are shown as high, low, and target in units of your choice. You're able to set the emissivity in the menu system for a little more advanced work. The camera has a quick closure that protects the lens. Easy to operate and stays closed. The USB-C charging port is behind a rubber sealed cover on the top of the unit. I started taking shots immediately. Of course we had to include the obligatory pet pictures, one of mom, and the vehicle with the hot ground under the engine. Point and squeeze the trigger is as easy as it gets. To offload media, plug into your computer and operate the file system. While there's a lot to love about this product, there are a few things that need attention. 1. A real case would be nice. This is billed as a practical everyday camera and that means a case to carry it to the job site. 2. The resolution is low. If you're doing simple scan work this might not be an issue. If you're doing simple diagnostics this might not be an issue. Just realize low resolution is a part of this product. 3. Software to use this on the PC was a little spotty. There's supposed to be a computer based client that lets you monitor the camera real time. Never found it. The software in general for this unit doesn't seem to be very robust. If you're not using it for a real time monitor or you never plan to look deeper into the images other than temperatures and colors, you'll probably be OK. Conclusion: This is a pretty good unit for the price. It's not a super high performer but at this price point, it does pretty good with a rich feature set.

This thermal imaging detector helps identify water and lots of other things that have a temperature difference. It works really well except when the water is not at the surface. The reality is though no water detector would do that.

I compared this with the HT-18+ and the image refresh and quality is not as good as the cheaper HT-18+. Hopefully these side by side pictures help someone make their choice if comparing the two models.
