  • We have another winner.
Style: Without 64GB microSD Card
The media could not be loaded. We have another winner. I spent three days testing it against a GoPro 5 and found it held up quite well, especially if you take into account the price. If you want to see the full video in HD, go to YouTube and search "Photojunky's drone zone akaso ek7000 plus vs. Gopro 5". The akaso ek7000 Plus offers slightly better video resolution and more megapixels when shooting photographs. This was apparent over its predecessor, and they managed to keep the cost down. It is no more expensive than the original ek7000. I found the menu easy to navigate. Just hit the power button a couple of times to get to the settings, and use the arrows on the side to scroll up or down through the different modes. Press the shutter button on top to choose what mode you want to enter. The camera feels solidly built and was easy to use. It's this kind of camera that are killing GoPro. Why would you spend five times as much on a GoPro when you can get almost the same great quality for a fraction of the cost? Watch the video and judge for yourself. You also have to take into account the accessories. GoPro doesn't give you any. The Akaso gives you literally a box full of accessories that allow you to mount it almost anywhere. The company is very generous. ... show more

  • Make sure you familiarize yourself with the controls before serious use...
Style: Without 64GB microSD Card
The camera does what is advertised. The built in "dive mode" filter does add some contrast to an underwater photo and IMHO, sharpens up the picture. The instructions are basically clear and easy to understand. The user interface on the camera is OK to manage... There are "series" of buttons you have to press, but with increased usage the operator should get used to the routine. You will need some patience here, as there are a lot of sequences of buttons to press to get it to do what you want. I did like the wifi addition, where you can access and manage your photos. Kind of tricky, but you have to turn on your phone wifi... set it wifi network to the app driver, which will turn off "internet access" in your phone....but you are now connected to the "camera network", and gives to direct access to the camera app which includes, taking photos, basic editing and deletion and running video directly from your phone. Could be a little confusing to wifi newbies. I liked the photos and video quality. Still messing around with more of the settings inside the camera. Looking forward to be taking excellent pictures and photos on my upcoming snorkeling Caribbean cruise reef excursion. The picture is with the dive mode "on" inside the internal settings of the camera, not an external filter attached. ... show more

  • good little camera
Style: With 64GB microSD Card
The AKASO EK7000 is an impressive action camera that punches well above its weight. For those seeking a reliable and affordable option to capture their adventures, this camera delivers exceptional value. The video quality is outstanding, especially considering the price point. The 4K resolution produces incredibly sharp and detailed footage, perfect for capturing breathtaking landscapes and fast-paced action. The image stabilization is also commendable, resulting in smooth and steady videos. One area where the EK7000 could improve is audio capture. While the sound quality is decent when used without the waterproof case, it becomes noticeably muffled when the case is on. This can be a drawback for users who prioritize capturing clear audio alongside their visuals. Overall, the AKASO EK7000 is a fantastic choice for budget-conscious adventurers who prioritize stunning video quality. If audio isn't a top priority, this camera is a definite winner. Pros: Excellent 4K video quality Impressive image stabilization Affordable price point Cons: Sound quality suffers when using the waterproof case ... show more

  • Great for Diving!
Style: Without 64GB microSD Card
The media could not be loaded. Hi, I'm new at scuba diving and knew that I wanted a camera to document the experience. I looked around at GoPros and other underwater camera/housing options, but really wasn't keen on spending $400-$700 for something I'll use a few times a year, and this camera had great reviews. Are you going to take national geographic quality, absolutely not, but for under $100 I'm really impressed, it did what it was supposed to really well. It's really easy to use and the WIFI upload/app feature makes it easy to share to social media right away. For the attached pics I used the external red filter, rather than the dive mode and used the camera as deep as 60 ft. Each day I used only 1 battery, lasted for 2 dives approx 1 hr each, but it does come with two which is nice. I also bought some moisture strips to ensure it didn't fog up, they are cheap so worth it. I've tried to give a variety of shots so you can see the range of pics (obviously lighting/depth plays a factor, and how patient I was able to be with taking the shots). It also took some good videos. I highly recommend this little wonder, for the price you can't beat it!! ... show more

  • Reliable only for land and snorkeling :(
Style: With 64GB microSD Card
I used this camera on land and for snorkeling and it worked great. The WiFi feature to offload onto your phone works great and the picture quality is excellent. However I bought this camera specifically for scuba diving and was excited to try it out. The first and only dive I took it to was 11.6 meters, the case is rated waterproof down to 30 meters. Unfortunately about halfway through the dive and after getting a ton of great shots, I noticed water inside the case and the camera immediately shut off and wouldn’t turn back on. I continued my dive because I couldn’t surface immediately. After over a week in rice, the camera is still destroyed and the SIM card can’t be recovered. Very disappointing, I had a lot of faith in this camera as a budget alternative to a go pro for diving! ... show more

Bought this for someone else. Arrived on time. No issues. Seems easy to use. came with more mounting attachments than I can count. Giftee seems to like it. I'm no expert, picture seemed fine for its use and price.
