I like this product a lot. I use the purple on dark brown hair. It doesn’t fully cover my sparse grays, but it makes them less noticeable. My hair feels very dry after washing the product out so the conditioning mask is a must for me. It feels similar to way clarifying shampoo makes my hair. My hair still feels healthy after the deep conditioning. The color shows up best in the sun and it fades pretty quickly. That said, I definitely think this has lightened my hair over time. I know it says it doesn’t have lightening agents. I plugged the ingredients into ChatGPT and it also said there were none - but I absolutely think it’s made my hair lighter. I’ve had multiple people ask if I’ve lightened my hair so it’s not just me! Maybe it’s doing something to my hair chemistry, maybe it’s reacting with the sun 🤷♀️ I like the effect, but I that’s not what you want, be careful. First two pics are shortly after applying the product. The last two are my color before I used it, and after it has washed out to show the lightening.

Let me preface this by saying that I have been coloring and highlighting my hair at home for years. My gray grows in about every 2 weeks and the time it takes to color my hair, not to mention the damage that has become the norm for me, has had me searching for a better and easier solution for quite some time. When I saw this product and read the reviews, I really thought it might be the solution I was looking for. My hair is a dark ash blonde, so I chose the the linen product. I'll admit I was very nervous about trying it but I was hopeful. I finally tried it four days ago. As much as I wanted to love it, it didn't measure up like I had hoped. First off, people say it's not messy but I found it to be very messy. It's not a thick gel like consistency but is more runny, and it seemed to run out of my hand when I pumped the bottle. It looked VERY orange when I put it on my hair, which was quite concerning, because I naturally have a lot of red undertones and I was afraid of what might be to come if it picked up on those undertones. Many reviews said it was so easy to use, but it really wasn't to me. It doesn't lather like normal shampoo. I found it very difficult to get it everywhere on my scalp that might be sprouting grays. It didn't seem to cover very well. It did irritate my skin just a little bit as it sat, but not as much as box dye. I applied it to my roots the best I could and tried to pull it through the ends of my hair but it seemed to be absorbing very unevenly which made it difficult to evenly coat my hair. The bottle says to let it sit or 10-15 minutes but 25 minutes for stubborn grays, so that's what I did. I rinsed it out in the shower and used the conditioner that came with it. When I got out of the shower, I could immediately tell, even though my hair was wet, that it was too dark. As I blew dry my hair, it became more and more apparent that not only was the color much darker than I was hoping, but that it covered very unevenly and was very flat and dull looking. My hair didn't have any natural highlights or undertones. It was almost black. It stained my skin on my forehead and ears very badly. Much more so than box dye. Four days later and the skin on my forehead is still stained. I ended up having to pull my hair through a cap at home and try to highlight it to bring it back to my natural color as much as possible, but it is still much too dark due to the base tone from this product. It might work okay if you have minimal grays throughout your head or if you are used to a one tone hair color. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't the miracle solution I was hoping for.

My natural color is very close to what is pictured on the box (Linen). It's very difficult to match it if you want to cover some gray - most hair dyes, especially natural ones, bring in some unwanted reddish tones. Not this one. The color came out exactly as pictured on the box: very cool light charcoal brown. I followed up with blue toner and sprayed lemon-based highlights. The results was amazing. Very natural looking, with a few subtle highlights, soft and manageable. Highly recommended. Thank you so much!
