These do run small as other reviewers have said. I wanted the midlayer with fleece for warmer weather but also the sailing jacket (thin and waterproof) for rainy times in Florida. I am a 2X in clothing and ordered the midlayer in a 5X due to the inner fleece making it smaller. I knew from trying these on that the sailing jacket ran bigger so I ordered a 4X and was sent a 5X. Also, I want the white jacket and have ordered 2 now and both came with yellowed areas. I don't want to say stained cause they were new with tags but I am wondering if the manufacturer placing these in the plastic bags is causing them to yellow. Amazon did give me the option to contact the manufacturer but since it happened twice I just accepted the return. Very bummed. I want the white really bad :( ... show more

The rain bounces off the material. You only need a t shirt inside when it’s about 40* outside. And yes you will get a compliment on how beautiful it looks. Perfect all around for any occasions. It’s true to size.

I bought this because I wanted something in between an unlined rain jacket and a winter coat. This fleece-lined Helly Hansen midweight jacket was perfect. I like the three zippered pockets outside and one zippered pocket inside (large enough to hold a passport, credit cards, money, lip balm, etc.). The outside lower pockets were large enough to hold my gloves and phone. For those with shorter arms, having adjustable cuffs is important, and these Velcro wrist cuffs worked brilliantly both to keep out rain and cold and to make sure the sleeves weren't too long for me. The jacket is very well-made and comfortable. I did buy one size larger than my normal coat size after reading reviews, and this was perfect, as I could wear it over one layer or one layer plus a fleece comfortably. It kept me dry and toasty on colder days when the wind was blowing and through rain and even a little snow. The adjustable hood was very welcome when I needed extra warmth or rain coverage. Read most of the comments and decided to order a size up. I'm 5'5" 135lb. Fits perfect. I can wear a slub hoodie and t shirt without feeling too stuffed into the jacket. This jacket is fleece lined so it's already warm. There's netting in the armpit area for venting. It would be nice if the pockets were a little deeper. ... show more

This jacket worked great for layering on our alaskan cruise vacation. It was totally waterproof and I could even layer a puffy vest or thin puffy jacket underneath. The only thing is I wish the hood covered my face more. It isn't as deep when you have a beanie on underneath it. Still loved it though
