This could be the perfect rain jacket for travel. It's lightweight so it packs down nicely. It has both a zipper and velcro options for closing the jacket. The pockets are substantial and the hood is very nice. The jacket is labeled "waterproof" and in my travels, it was certainly put to the test. I was pleasantly surprised by the coverage and remained totally dry under the hooded jacket! One thing to keep in mind - the hood does not roll up and give the option of hiding it in the collar as with some other jackets. Nice jacket. It kept me dry in daily heavy rain. One draw back is the Velcro outside of the zipper is very sticky and snags delicate clothing.
