  • Heat Wave Radiant Saunas BSA6315 Harmony Deluxe Oversized Portable Cabin HAPPY WITH IT!!!!
I received mine yesterday and used it last night for the first time. Definitely need to let it preheat for 10 or 15 minutes to let warm up and then reset your timer for length of time to be in it. It produced plenty of sweat. I didn't read the instructions completely setting it up so didn't realize the rod attached to the side to keep the walls spread out while you are in it. I thought it was something that came loose and thought they just forgot to put it in and was going to write to them to ask about when I read the description again and said it was attached, however, the description says it is some type of wooden rod, it is a metal rod. I'm sure next time I use my sauna it will be much more comfortable to sit in. I'm female, 5'7" and weight 255 and I was able to fit in the chair comfortably, but there is not a lot of room in the sides, however, there will be more since I found the rod to keep the front walls separated :) I did put a towel on the seat and back of chair to absorb any sweat. I may put one under the foot pad next time I use it also to absorb sweat. I'm pretty happy with it, but I have only used it once. I think if they made it a few inches in depth would help. I would have preferred a few more inches of leg room. All in all I like it so far. ... show more

  • For the price, as good as it is going to get. And it is effective
I just got this today. I was watching out the window all day, waiting for it to arrive. It was easy to unbox and set up. At first I could not find the foot pad, but when I hunted more thoroughly and pulled the foam flooring pad down, the foot pad was behind it. Everything worked. The chair, for being a folding director's style chair, was surprisingly comfortable. The biggest issue I had (after exactly one use) is that the placement of the neck hole is not optimal for me. It was awkward. If I put the chair dead center inside the sauna, then I have to lean way forward to get my head through the neck hole. If I pull the chair forward, my knees are hitting the front of the cloth cabin. Eventually, I decided that if I folded up a thick towel and put it behind me, it served as good backing to support me in the chair so that I could be reasonably comfortable with the neck hole. For me, the heat was adequate only at the highest temp. The difference is that my head was not enclosed in the heat, and that seemed to limit the "sauna effect" until the final ten minutes. But I kept experimenting, and my guess is that over time I will get a better result. I jumped into a warm shower right after and turned it down to tepid. Then toweled off quick and vigorously. The result after that was almost identical to my results from a conventional sauna. I felt deeply relaxed and yet my "spirit" felt invigorated, like a fog lifted. Session #2 - I took more time before I turned on the unit to find the best placement of the chair, using folded thick towels to provide support. Things were a lot more organized, even though my dogs run around and bark like mad as soon as I step into it. I warmed it up for five minutes first, and then set it for 150 for 30 minutes. It took a long time for me to really sweat. It was not until 20 minutes had passed that I was, in any sense, "dripping." So when the first cycle ran the full 30 minutes, I set it for a second cycle of 30 minutes and 150 degrees. The dripping commenced pretty well in the second cycle. I let it go for another 20 minutes so that (doing math here), I had a full 30 minutes of dripping sweat. One thing I noticed is that because of the placement of the heat units, your arms and shoulders really get the heat blasted on them, and then the heat has to progress to your front and back. One way to help is to let your arms rest forward on the chair, making an open space for the heat to circulate. Don't let your arms go out sideways though or you will contact a heat unit, and that is NOT fun. It's not so hot that it really burns you, but you will get the message. After the session I jumped right into the shower for a cool down and am glugging down my second quart of water as I type this. I feel very peaceful ... show more

  • LYME DISEASE....IT'S HELPING MY SYMPTOMS AND IS WORTH THE COST. NOT A "LUXURY ITEM"....BUT DOES THE JOB
Lyme Disease..... I wrote that first so anyone thinking of getting this for that reason will notice it quickly. I have Lyme and probably have had it for many years before being diagnosed. I have had many symptoms....fatigue, joint problems....but the biggest, most debilitating symptom has been my skin problems. I won't go into tons of details but 6 years ago I started getting sores that wouldn't heal, felt like I was being stung by bees, felt like I had ants crawling under my skin and had the creepy fibers coming out of the sores and skin. I know, it sounds like I'm out of my gourd and delusional. But I'm not. Luckily they have discovered that the fibers are actually excess keratin that is formed because of the Lyme bacteria and the fungal problems that come along with the disease. Of course they don't have a treatment for this symptom....or so my doctor tells me. The problem is, the medical "professionals" did diagnose me as delusional....which made things so much worse. I have always been healthy but when I needed help, I couldn't get it. I've been dealing with this on my own. Somewhere along the way, just recently, I read that Infrared saunas help a lot with Lyme.....because the bacteria hates heat. At the same time I read that a product called Banderol also helps to drive out the bacteria. It should be combined with other meds that you can only get through a doc.....but my doc refuses to prescribe them. So I decided to try the sauna and Banderol on my own. I have to say, I do notice an improvement! I have a lot less sores and only once in a while do I get tingles under my skin. I'm so glad I found this sauna! I was just about to invest in one that is over $1000 but found this one. I figured I would try this out and if it worked well I would invest in a larger, wooden one in the future. This one has already paid for itself. I can use it as many times as I want, for as long as I want and don't have to pay $20 or more each time. No, it's not the most comfortable thing to use but it's worth it in the end. I have figured out how to position myself so I can tilt my head back, with a towel tucked into my neck and feel relaxed. I do recommend getting this one...because of the little extra room you get and for the more comfortable chair that comes with it. It DOES get hot! I don't know if it actually gets to 150 degrees but it's darned close! I preheat it for at least 5 minutes before getting in. For me....because I don't sweat that easily.....I have to stay in for at least an hour to get things going. The whole second half hour is spent just sweating like crazy. The first time I used it I was shocked that the 2 towels I had with me, one to sit on and the other to wipe off with felt like I had used them both after going swimming! I keep my socks on and they were as wet as they are when you take them out of the washer after being spun out. Because I want my head and face to sweat as much as possible, I will cover my head with a towel.....just to trap in as much heat as I can. The sweat just pours out of you! So, if you are really in need of this kind of treatment and aren't sure if it will work.....this sauna is definitely worth trying. If it doesn't work then you haven't wasted a lot of money. Like I said before, it will pay for itself in about 12 to 15 uses. Another reason I like having it is that I can go directly to the shower at home.....which is definitely a necessity! Also, after using it you sometimes feel a bit woozy.....which is to be expected. The last thing I would want to do is have to drive home feeling that way! All around, I am so glad that I got this sauna and it seems to be working as described. ... show more
