Description

The Heat Storm wave floor to wall unit is a great solution for any bedroom or small room where there is not much floor space. At 1000-watt this heater will easily heat up your room but you will not have issues tripping your Breaker if you want to run other electronics. This heater is safe to touch, even on the grill, making a great choice for anyone. This unit has two power modes, one uses the full 1, 000-watt (red leaf), while the second mode (green leaf) uses only 500-watt. Each unit contains our patented heat Exchanger with HMS technology that allows maximum heat from the infrared quartz bulbs without any heat loss from the unit.

UPDATE: I purchased a second one of these so that I’d have supplemental heat is each bedroom. I live in the SE USA so I don’t need heating for most of the year. This newer unit has a bit more customization and I like the display upgrade. I’m going to add back that star I deducted from my original review. These little heaters do a great job. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Let me first start out by saying that I deducted one star from my review because it’s very obvious that I got a repackaged item and payed new item price for it. The product absent its used status rates 4 stars from me. I already have the larger 750w/1500w version of the Heat Storm. I’m very happy with it so I decided to add this smaller version to use in a bedroom. I like that this lower power unit darkens its display after a while. This means you don’t have any light shining from the heater while you’re trying to sleep. There is a drawback with this because the thermostat isn’t displayed nor is the power draw indicator. You have to go push the power button or one of the temperature control buttons to turn the display back on. I tossed the remote immediately and find no value in it. Someone else might like to have the remote. I just don’t care for it. As far as heating goes, it works just fine. Don’t expect this thing to heat a large room. Don’t expect it to maintain a huge temperature difference either. I haven’t tested yet, but in a small room I’d say this heater can maintain 5-10 degrees difference between the room and the rest of the house. Of course insulation, air flow between rooms, etc would all play a role in how well this heater will do. Overall I’m happy with the purchase. The heater is functional and has a low enough energy draw that my solar systems can power it without any trouble. I used it for four months last winter and for a few months this winter and it stopped working today. Made some garbly noise, so I stopped it, and now when I turn it back on I can't get the heat to work. I never abused it, never even turned the heat up past 74 degrees, was usually always in 'green' mode, and never left on overnight. I was a little leary of buying one of these due to a couple of bad reviews, but I needed a new space heater so I bought it anyway and I'm glad I did. I live near Houston, where it generally doesn't get too cold. With energy costs rising I was looking for something a little bigger than my two little space heaters, so I don't have to run my whole house gas furnace. I live in an old uninsulated house with big windows. It's only been in the upper forties a couple of times at night, but this heated my 300 square-foot living room enough in 10-15 minutes so I could sit there in only a nightgown. I had to turn it off after half an hour because it got too warm for me. If the heater lasts and does a good job when it gets colder in January, I'll buy another one next year. I don't see what all the fuss is about the noise. Mine is very quiet and only makes a low humming noise. It was a bit of a pain to put the feet on and program because I'm technically inept, but if I can do it, anyone can. I feel like this was a good purchase and would recommend it to anyone wanting a space heater for a small room. ... show more

I bought this heater to replace an oil-filled radiator heater I have been using in my bedroom. I love the 'heat of the sun' feel of the radiator heater and thought this infrared heater would feel the same, and since it has a fan, would also heat up my room faster. When I first turn it on there is a very noticeable rattle, but it goes away after a minute, and when the fan is on hi, it's much too loud for a bedroom. After the room gets up to temperature it switches to low and it's acceptably quiet, but as the room is heating up it's switching between low and hi, very distracting if you are trying to get those last zzzzz's. What about the "infrared heat"? I don't know. There is a vent on the bottom of the heater that blows hot air, I don't feel heat coming from anywhere else. I contacted the manufacturer and asked about the "infrared heat" and the response was: "Infrared is the direct transfer of heat from the heater to the object (you and the room around you) without heating the air between." Did I mention the vent at the bottom of the heater that blows hot air? I only used the oil heater on its lowest 600 watt setting, and it made the room and me feel 'toasty' warm, this heater doesn't impart the same 'feel', but it does warm the room acceptably. As electric heaters go this is a real decent heater. Nice even heat. Fan is not too loud. Heat exits near floor, which I like as I feel it on my feet. I did not wall mount it. I bought the model that included floor stands. It has a nice coats wrap on the back to manage the cord. Makes is so the cord can be set to any length needed. Best part is this is only I think 1100 watts max. So the plug never gets hot on my old wiring. And the housing all around stays nice and cool. So I feel safer no fire risk. I didn’t notice much change in my elelctric bill over using the oil filled heater I had been using. Maybe it’s a little less since this heats up room in 20 min where pop filled used to take an hour to heat it up to be comfortable. Heater gets used 2-3 hours a day. I have it installed in small 8 x 10 office room that has 2 outside windows. There is no heat in that room. Gets down to around 50. This Heats it up to 72 in about 20 minutes. Then the heater cycles between high and low as needed. Overall I really like it. Like the remote control as well. ... show more
