  • 400 sq ft Garage, fit well in the space, compact, good fan, plenty hot!
Style: Heater
Small profile, easy to install, directional up down for the heater and a small directional plate in the front of the heating output. I have a 400 sq.ft garage, where I do woodworking but in the cold of Chicago Winters, there were days I just could not work in the garage, tried Propane heater, but had to leave the garage door open a bit and the back door to draft out the gas fumes, so did not work very well and expensive! So I bought this electric unit. So I tried another electric heater (off amazon), but their website was inaccurate and said the 7500 Watt unit took a 30 amp fuse, (which would require 10 gauge wire), and when I got it, it required 50 Amp and 8 gauge. So I looked at all the other options and found this heater, it was 6000 Watts, 25 amp switch, could get to all the manual (installation) to verify requirements and how to install, and worked out great. I installed a double pole 30 amp fuse, 10 gauge wire plus ground in conduit from the fuse box to the garage, and final connection with flexible conduit to hook it up to the heater for easy installation. Works great, on really cold days, does take some a few hours to heat up my garage (exterior garage not insulated ) to a workable temperature, but had a remote control as well as an external thermometer (included) and a web app to help you control the unit (turn on off and use timer to turn off when if you forget). You will need Wi-fi to connect the heater web site and external thermometer to work, my wi-fi does not reach the garage, but I can still set the timer and use the external thermometer to manage the on/off/heat temperature. Only down size is the heat blow out straight out of the unit, and from the picture I posted you kinda see I mounted it in the middle of my garage near the back wall. I have 3 ceiling fans in the garage (for winter and summer use), so these help to distribute the heat all around the garage rather than just in the middle. You may want to consider some kind of additional way to move the heat around your shop. Overall, very happy with the results, size, heat and features. Would recommend it! ... show more

  • Best heater.
Style: Heater
This is actually being used in our 700 sq foot tiny house. We had 3 120v 1500 watt heaters that struggled to keep us warm. I mounted this from the ceiling and it warms the entire house. Has good fan force and usually runs on low speed, so it's pretty quiet. The portable thermostat makes heating more accurate. ... show more

  • Very good quality and performance
Style: Heater
This heater has a very good build quality. The fit and finish of all the parts is very good as well. It provides excellent heat output. I have two of them in a 1400 square foot insulated basement woodworking shop. On any given day, they can effectively raise and maintain the temperature about 10-15 degrees (F) above the normal temperature of the basement (~40 deg. F). I am not trying to heat the basement, just take the edge off the cold, so 50-55 degrees (F) is sufficient. I would concur with the other reviews that suggest an external thermostat. Even after calibrating the units to match my wall thermometer, they still usually shut down about 5 degrees (F) prematurely since they get up to the target temperature inside the housing faster than the surrounding room. That said, I set the thermostat about 5 degrees (F) hotter and problem resolved. For what it's worth, the thermostat inside the heater is centered in the input airstream, so the design is not bad. It's just not quite far enough away from the heater and housing to sense the true room temperature. I had the same problem with my pellet stove. A provision to connect an external, remotely mounted thermostat would be an excellent improvement. It can still ship as is, just give me the option. I researched a lot of heaters and looked at a lot of reviews including a a lot of YouTube install/reviews. Although this heater was among the more expensive units, I believe the value justifies the price. It is a good quality build, it works well, there's no extra dinking around you need to do because the manufacturer cut corners. You unpack the box, wire it up, turn it on, and it just works. ... show more

  • Excellent heater for the price.
Style: Heater
I was on the fence about what to install in my shop. I contemplated a mini-split unit but really didn’t want to spend thousands to heat my small shop. I found this a decided to give it a try. This heater (so far) is perfect for my 260 sq ft shop. It has the b*lls to turn it into a sauna but the noise level of a window fan. I do a few small complaints: 1. The app isn’t great. It works fine but it’s very basic. It could use a +/- for the temperature setting and a min/max range setting. 2. The 3/4 knockout is too big and isn’t necessary. I recommend a perforated KO in 3/4” -and- 1/2” so the customer or their electrician can choose what size conduit to use. I used 1/2” as 3 #10awg wires can fit easily. 3. It requires very strong wifi connection. I had to add a WiFi extender to my shop, which is about 75’ from my house. All in all, I highly recommend this unit. ... show more

  • I'm satisfied
Style: Heater
The unit works well and was relatively easy to install for two people working together. I'm using it to heat a well insulated, detached, work shop 24' x 32' with 10' ceiling. Because stratification is a problem and the fan is not super powerful, I've set a box fan on a milk crate aimed straight up on the floor under the Heat Storm. This keeps the internal thermostat with a couple of degrees F of a wall mounted thermometer. Without the box fan, the internal thermostat would register 10 to 15 degrees higher than the than the wall thermometer. But this is to be expected when the unit is installed 8' above the floor. The unit is enabled for an external thermostat, but I haven't been able to find one. The WiFi feature was easily set up and I like being able to warm up the shop during my hour long commute from work. ... show more

  • Good value solution
Style: Heater
It takes a healthy circuit, but we have had in place for enough time to know very effective. This is installed in an insulated, 12’x24’ stick-built “yard barn” shop. Plenty satisfied. Would certainly recommend. Good value.
