My dad, who is 83, constantly makes us repeat what we’re saying, multiple times, and has to have the tv volume at 60. He has hearing aids, but won’t wear them for fear of losing them because they were so expensive 🫣. I bought him a set of these for Christmas. He now has the tv volume at 20 and can even have a conversation with it on 🎉. So I got a pair for my 82 yo mom, who has the same issue (they’re divorced, so she couldn’t try his). She does not like them at all, as they amplify the (fake) fireplace sounds so much that it interferes with the tv sound. In any case, they’re, by far, the most comfortable ear buds I’ve ever tried, but I found the sound to be very "tinny", like I was in a tunnel. After a hearing test, my audiologist suggested that I try some over the counter hearing aids rather than spending lots of money for custom hearing aids. These hearing aids did increase the volume of everything. My audiologist had told me that I may find hearing aids, in my case, may be more of an annoyance than they are helpful. This was the case for me, not the fault of the hearing aids, they did work as advertised. They just didn't work for me. After learning that my 4 year old non-working $2,000 hearing aids could not be repaired and replacements would cost $4,000, I decided to try a less expensive solution. These aids don't have any of the fancy 'bells and whistles' that actual hearing aids have. They are sound amplifiers programed to enhance the higher 'treble' range of sounds where speech is found. And since most of us buy hearing products so we can hear speech, they have filled the bill so far. Bought this for my grandmother. product seems well built. Good battery life and she is pleased. She is constantly concerned about loosing it as it has fallen out a few times even after we tried different cushion sizes. If there was some optional behind the ear attachment for people concerned about loosing them, it would be even better. ... show more
