    • Excellent dishes and easy to get replacements
This is an absolutely beautiful set of dishes. This was my first time buying bone china and there is such a huge difference between these and the set of cheap stoneware I had before--they are more uniform in size, so much thinner and lighter and so far nothing has put a scratch on them. They also don't take up nearly as much room as my old dishes--the bowls in particular fit nicely into each other so I only need one stack in my cabinet where I used to have to have two. I really love the simple pattern around the edges and these will work well for casual dining as well as fancier dinners. I did end up requesting a replacement mug and two replacement bowls from Mikasa due to small defects and they were friendly and fast about shipping them to me. If you buy these dishes I recommend you run your hands over all the surfaces to make sure there aren't any little defects that may be difficult to see but very obvious and pointy when you happen to touch them. ... show more

    • I'm glad I bought this
Sometimes you get a product that you're happy with initially. Then there are other products where you quietly think 'I'm glad I bought this'. That is what I was thinking last night while having dinner. When we bought this dinnerware set we could tell it was quality, light weight, functional, with simple elegance. But I was worried that the set may not be very durable or worth the extra cost. After 2 years I am happier now than when I bought the dinnerware set. It looks nearly as good today as when it came out of the box. This surprises me because plates will always get scratches or chips when used every day, and this set is used every day. Even stacking plates can dull the finish. I was happy when I got the set, and even more satisfied today. I would buy these again, but may never have to. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. For daily use/ I’m going to order one more set And I just open the 2nd set, with coffee cups not with soup plates like the first set I wonder why different than the 1st set? Not sure how to specified that when ordering

I bought these plates in late 2019 and started using them in Jan 2020 on a daily basis. They were beautiful when new. It is now Aug, 2023 and I am very disappointed how these plates have weathered. The finish is “wearing away” after just 3 years. These plates are not abused. Just used for daily meals, washed in a dishwasher, and very occasionally used in a microwave. So disappointing. UPDATE: After just 4 1/2 years of use, they need to be replaced. Horrible quality. The finish is so worn that these dishes no longer even clean properly. I bought Mikasa due to their supposed quality and reputation. Running a household for decades, I have never had dishes need replacing due to wear. I buy quality, which is what I thought I was buying. What a mistake and a waste of money! ... show more

These are exactly what I was looking for. Simple, tasteful white dishes. They were packed perfectly and arrived without a single chip or broken item. Also, due to the basic shape, nearly flat with a hint of curve at towards the rim they slip easily into the dishwasher without tipping over. A huge plus in my opinion. The coffee mug is a nice size, not overly big or uncomfortable to hold. I’ve had other various Mikasa products in the past and they’ve always proven to be durable and long lasting. I’m confident these dishes will be the same. I’m glad I picked up two sets for service for 8. Btw, they are WHITE. Not creamy or off-white. A really bright glossy white. Enjoy! ... show more

Arrived with a few plates cracked, but overall a nice set. I wish they sold individual plates so that I could have easily replaced the broken ones. Customer service said I could only either return the set or get a small refund. Otherwise still fine for everyday use.

I moved a few months ago & didn’t bring any dishes with me as mine were so heavy & mostly used paper plates. I kept searching until I found ones I really liked. But most importantly, I have a bad back & zero strength in my arms so it was very important for me that the plates were extremely light to carry. These are so much lighter than any other plate I picked up. And they didn’t skimp in quality. It’s not plastic. And the details around the rim are beautiful.
