It was the most ridiculously simple item to put together. Impossible to get it wrong. The piping is thicker than expected, the coating on the wire really finishes off the overall quality of the run. Having the girls in the run provides them with security and prevents them from destroying grass and landscaping.     • Wire doesn't reach where it should

Putting this run together was a piece of cake! It definitely helps to have two people working on it. Instructions were pretty thorough and we were happy with those! Some of the numbers/letters on the parts did fall off and made identifying parts a little difficult. This was due to the lubricant on the poles. The frame is lightweight and we were able to move it after putting it together. The chicken wire that comes with it seems nice. It's green, so pretty see-through and visually pleasing! The instructions also tell you how to put the wire on the coop in panels. All went perfectly well until we got to the front of the coop. It tells you to put two verticle panels on either side of the door and the wire did not reach from pole to pole there. It was too short by a few inches and we couldn't stretch the wire to fit. We ended up just putting up two horizontal panels like it had instructed us to on the back of the coop. We then just cut out the door and left the wire that way. Coincidentally, if you cut only 3 sides of the door (where it opens, not hinges), this adds a spring to the door and it automatically closes behind me when I enter. It doesn't latch, but it would keep chickens from running right out when you step in! It is NOT predator-proof!!! You can make it predator-proof with some tweaking, but this wire will not keep out predators. Be sure to encase the bottom in hardware cloth and add a hardware cloth skirt to help with predator-proofing. You'll also have to modify the door to prevent raccoons and weasels from being able to squeeze into the corners. We are using ours for monitored "field days" for our growouts. ... show more
