We are very happy with this pool cleaner. This is the second one we have bought over the last 15 years. When ours went out, we bought, for almost three times the price, a robot cleaner. It is also a skimmer, too. We had it over a month, using it everyday, and realized the walls and curves of our pool was covered in dust. We could not see it until we brushed it, and it took a while to build up. Unfortunately, we were 5 days past the return date. So, we went back to this tried and true cleaner, a little wiser. This works really well. My pool looked great, and no dusty walls, after the first use. The smaller base enables it to clean all places of the pool. It came with way more hose than we need, but we can get our smaller hand cleaner into our spa using the extra hose. We know we can find and replace spare parts, so that's a bonus. ... show more

UPDATE:Yesterday when cleaning pool I noticed I didn't have the vacuum hose correctly in the skimmer filter and adjusted it...and now it does CLIMB OUT OF THE POOL! YAHOOOOO!! WORKS LIKE A CHARM 💥 I’m giving 5 stars because it was easy to set up out of the box and place in pool, where it immediately went to work. I was skeptical at first if it would work efficiently because it almost didn’t pass the suction test. It was registering to low. I placed it in the shallow end, and it started right up and started working. Mine may not climb out of the pool, but it still goes up the wall about 80% and once in deep end, it has enough suction and power to come back up to the shallow end to clean. Sometimes it appears to get stuck around the stairs, but always works it’s way out of it, and keeps going. I’ve never had to readjust the vacuum to free it from being stuck. Note that most of these automatic pool cleaners are not cheap, but they save the pool owner a lot of manual labor. In my experience, I normally just leave the unit in the pool; so whenever the pump is on, the cleaner is working its way around the pool. You might want to remove it if you had a pool party to avoid bothering the swimming guests. The plastic parts do wear on this; so every year or so, you need to buy some replacement feet, wings, etc. With that said, our previous cleaner of this same make/model lasted for years with occasional servicing. I've watched our pool supply store service ours, and the whole unit just screws together; so I may try to just buy parts next time and do it myself. Most of the worn parts are very apparent. This was the third and last one of these Hayward Cleaners. The first lasted about a year and a half, I was okay with that, the second lasted about a year, ok now I was a little agitated that this thing broke just after the one year warranty, now this third one lasted barely two weeks. I would think for $500.00 Hayward would make a better product. Very disappointed to where I will not be purchasing another one of these cleaners. They offer a rebuild kit for these and I'm mechanically inclined. I tried rebuilding the last one 2 times, what a waste of money! Once these things stop working correctly, they are done, rebuild kit doesn't work. They both only turned to the left and the hose gets completely twisted up and only moves in a three-foot diameter.
