I am NOT new to crypto. I researched this very carefully and thoroughly before and after I bought it, and I am very happy with how the Ellipal works. If you lose it, your crypto is still safe and accessible to you (as long as you followed the instructions and backed up your mnemonics). If you break it, your crypto is still safe and accessible to you. If someone steals it, your crypto is still safe and accessible to you. This device is a convenient way to store your private keys, is safe (completely offline / isolated from the Internet), and is not a single point of failure that results in the loss of your crypto if it is lost or stolen (as long as you follow the directions and backed up your mnemonics). I personally keep most of my crypto keys in a paper cold wallet, and I keep a small amount in the Ellipal that I can carry around with me to trade / spend. It's really handy because it both reads and displays QR codes, reducing the chance of typing in wrong info when sharing public keys during a transaction. I initially thought the display was of low quality because you have to look at it directly facing you to read it, but once I started actually using it around other people, I realized that this is a favorable trait because nobody around me can see what I'm doing on the screen. You can also have multiple accounts in the Ellipal. I have my wallet, and my wife's loaded in. Both wallets have individual passwords and passphrases for each individual wallet. You can also link your wallet to your phone to see how much is in the wallet, but you cannot gain access to any of those funds without the private keys stored in the Ellipal, so losing your phone is not a risk to your crypto. I have nothing negative to write about my experience. Maybe the charger connector could be a little better because it gets knocked off easily during charging, but it works fine. And, I only charge it when it gets down below 50%, which is about once a month / maybe 6 weeks depending on how much I use it. When it's off it doesn't seem to drain the battery at all. ... show more

In terms of function, the wallet at least meets my expectations. I certainly like the lack of ports/internet access. The integration with the app is also intuitive. Downsides: as seen in the photo, there is an air bubble in the screen visible when turned off. When turned on I don’t notice it. If your new to crypto please read all the way! This device is only a little harder to use than others on the market but the security is better than anything out there I’m writing this cuz so many new people to crypto. Use a 24 seed + passphrase plus an Ellipal Titan means so damn secure it’s unreal. I have 2, one of which I sent to my brother. Been using for months not any major issues and support has been awesome (shipping support was not the best) but device and app support have been awesome. *my main issue* If any issues with QR code scanning switch to the next QR code it will scan instantly. If you use the memonic seed storage which is sold seperate. Know that you only need the first 4 letters of each word in your seed phrase. The first 4 letters of each word will never repeat in bip39. So Cents and center both words cannot be used as they both have first same 4 letters. You can look up a bip39 word list and see. So don’t be like I can’t do anything with just 4 letters or it doesn’t fit the whole word this thing is stupid!! No it’s not. Do research. It’s you that do not understand crypto stuff.     • Not truly air gap works in connection with the ellipal app therefore it's not a cold wallet.
After several YouTube videos of positive people saying it's great and after closer examination it's not so great due to the fact that it's not truly air gapped. It is not air gap because it has to use the ellipal phone app in conjunction to make it work.. once installed this app should work without phone connection at all and the only thing within it that shouldn't work is the crypto fluctuation readout... The fact that it needs internet or phone service to connect to the app at all means it's not air gap and the fact that you can only read your currencies on that app and not on the actual cold wallet device itself further supports that and then in the terms and conditions basically says they can do whatever they want with your information. Lastly the final nail in the coffin was a test transferring ethereum based crypto GTC, about $10 worth sent it to the wallet wallet received it fine tried to send it out of the wallet and there was no less than an $87 ethereum gas fee. There should be no gas fee at all for a transfer from wallet to wallet. Therefore I give this wallet a 0% chance I'll ever use it and a negative 10 Stars because it's a bunch of crap and lies. ... show more
