It’s lightly lined and not to thick, a still be folded up to pack. It is waterproof material. I am about a size 14/16 and the extra large fit well with a bit of room for sweater or sweat shirt wearing. Using for Alaska cruise, but I am in cold climate so great for fall into winter. It's a fair/good coat for the selection that's available for plus size. BUT, mine is going back. I bought a size smaller than Amazon recommended, and it's still gigantic. Even if I went a size down, the sleeves are way past my wrists and hands. It's more like a man's jacket in that sense. The coat is warm because of the fleece lining, but the outer fabric seems like a strange choice. Most shoppers love this jacket, but it just didn't work for me. Amazon you're a huge company. Could you please make some outerwear for plus size women that isn't dependent on a drawstring in the middle? Thanks.

I did size up being that it had a liner in it and wasn't sure how it would fit with a slightly thicker shirt - I'm glad I did. Over all great fit and the sleeves were longer than mentioned in previous posts. I highly recommend.
