Having no prior experience with any home health tests beforehand, I was unsure of what to expect, especially in terms of the collection process. As the Comprehensive Gut Health Test, like other gut tests, requires a stool sample, I was initially quite anxious as to the steps involved. While I can't speak for similar products from other brands, I did like that Verisana included a very detailed set of directions to ensure proper analysis procedures were met. It is important to follow the included directions EXACTLY, especially with regard to (1) requesting a shipping label before taking the sample, (2) shipping the sample the same day that it is collected on a Monday or Tuesday only, and (3) signing all included documents. Overall, the process of collecting this type of sample was made far less complicated by both the detailed directions and the included tools. I felt that the way this product has been developed made the process as painless as possible, particularly given the usually uncomfortable nature of acquiring a stool sample. So far, the process has been far easier than expected. I am excited to receive my results and I look forward to using the report to improve my overall health.

I was very satisfied with the test because it really analyzed all the important values for me. The application was simple and the results understandable. In addition to such basics as pH value, you get a detailed evaluation of the intestinal flora (anaerobic and aerobic bacteria), Helicobacter pylori, alpha-1-antitrypsin (important indication of leaky gut), Candida and some other values. This is very convenient for me, because before I always had to gather the values from different laboratories or ask my family doctor to have a complete intestinal test done for me.

I purchased this last year because I was working on the road a lot and was unable to get to the doctors to have this lab test done. This was anything but convenient I went through all the steps in the packaging as instructed and three times. Had to have a new kit sent out to me because the sample was too hot in packaging, opened in shipping, somehow, or was simply too old. Even though I follow all the instructions and sent the sample out at the beginning of the week to prevent an issue with shipping. By the time I realized this was much more inconvenient ( and expensive) than going to the doctor, and loosing hope there will ever be a actual lab result, it was too late to issue my $250 refund as it had timed out. There may not even be a lab they test these samples with . Seems like a scam or a VERY poorly managed business. Don’t waste $250 like I did , schedule an appointment and do it once.

The test ONLY gives a high general overview and does not give details like other tests do. Flore test give more details about specific microbes. BEFORE TAKING SAMPLE... SEND AN EMAIL TO: [email protected] THEN WAIT for their REPLY WITH MORE INSTRUCTIONS (the most important ones) This will also include the shipping label and more paperwork (that you will have to print and sign 3 times). IF you take the sample before sending the email YOUR test may be useless and you will have to retake at your own expense. Samples can only be done on MONDAY and TUESDAYS. You will need to find a UPS location near you. You will need 2 clear UPS label packets for das paper-worken. Verisana - Has a website where you can set up a profile, but your results will be emailed to you. I received my results in around 15 days. The Flore' test is basically the same test but they give much more detail as to what the make up of the individual microbes are, plus a website where you can view the progress of your test, view your results on line, plus follow up with a real person who can discuss your results. Then custom probiotics (Flore' test is also less expensive).

I am so glad that I decided to take this test! It's a very easy and cheap way of checking what's wrong with your gut before deciding whether to work with a functional medicine doctor or not. I have been really healthy with a clean diet and lots of supplements however my symptoms were not going away. I didn't want to go through the hassle and spending a lot of money on a functional medicine doctor just yet. It was very easy to take the stool sample (it comes with a collection sheet to be fastened on your toilet). I received the test results back after 17 days via email (plus a few added days for shipping out to the lab). The results are super easy to understand and it comes with an explanation of the analysis as well. Now I finally know what's going on in my gut and feel that I can make a better decision on how to approach a holistic doctor or a nutritionist to work with.

Happy with the test kit. Wasn't sure what to expect and I was impressed with the test. Came with very good instructions how to collect the sample and to make sure that the lab can analyse it properly. Gut health is so important. This test gave an in-depth insight into what's going and now I feel confident about what products to use and how to dial in my diet.
