  • Looks good and great features/sound for the price
Style: 10" Subwoofer (XT10)
This sub is great for the price. Get it on black friday and save some money. Most of the equivalent subs of this size are 300+ bucks. A little misleading though, measuring from the edge of the rubber from one side to the other side of the speaker is about 8 inches not including the 1/4 in area for the screw holes. So to me this is more of a 8” sub and overall is the size of yamahas 8” sub. Not complaining though, i do like the more compact size as subs used to have huge heavy boxes in the past. This one says 23lbs so not bad overall. Its your typical black vinyl veneer look and comes with power cord and instructions. Basic controls are power switch, phase switch, volume, low pass filter and the lfe or stereo rca jack inputs. Most people will like the phase switch at 0 as it matches their other speakers phase, but i say try both ways and see what you like. Thats it and its simple and perfect for entry level sound systems. You will need a sub cable which is a single rca male to rca male. Im using it for my computer and have a douk ampapa 300w amp with upgraded muses 02 opamps and sony cs5s that i purchased a few black fridays ago at a great price. The ampapa amp has a mini 3.5 jack output and using the polk lfe rca input. The polk has an adjustable low band filter so will cross this sub over at about 80hz as to me thats the cleanest sounding xover point. Anyways, overall if you want a lower cost decent sound for your stereo or even computer or tv, this setup is great for a small to medium size room. Review for height monitor x190, got these on black friday as well. I have 6 wharfedale diamond bookshelfs and center with a sub for my main tv hooked up to my onkyo rz50. It has outs for atmos height so after reading reviews got this on black friday sales. Overall a very simple maybe 3 inch full range driver in an angled mdf box. It has a nice grayish color grill and speaker posts that accept wire or banana plugs so simple install. I need to se up my dirac live settings then will update review. Other then that. Speaker looks fine in quality but super simple design so get them on sale. ... show more

  • Great Speakers For The Price
Style: Tower Speaker (XT60)
These are my second set of Polk "Tower" speakers. The first set are multiple 6 1/2" drivers which I use for home theater front surrounds. Look: These are high quality. They sound fantastic. But (IMHO) they are basically large bookshelf speakers. In a small room, they have great definition and I think the pair of passive radiators improve bass immensely compared to a single ported enclosure woofer/driver. But look, a large room and loud volumes, need way more than a 6 1/2" speaker. It isn't a quality or spec issue - it's physics. Speakers move air and the amount of air they can move is directly related to speaker size. For the money, Polk speakers are a value. However, choose according to room size and intended listening levels. Small speakers (Under 8") work well in small rooms. Small speakers work for quiet volume levels. In terms of quality and fit for purpose, would buy again. - - - Having said all of this, would these speakers and a decent Center Channel Speaker be a Home Theater improvement over a sound bar. Absolutely. ... show more

  • Resonable priced clarity
Style: Large Tower Speaker (XT70)
First impression Sounds smooth and full, paired with a Yamaha As 501 amp. Tons of low end and clarity. Feed them clean and they will perform. Plenty of volume to fill a 14x14 room. Sound smooth and pleasing to my ears without being shrill .

  • Decent speakers. Not great speakers.
Style: Surround Speakers w/ 6.5" Woofer - Pair ...
Got these on a great sale price otherwise would give 3 stars. Have a pair of Polk monitor 4’s from 1989. Still love those speakers. Thought these would be similar. Yep, they’re not. Decent base, but lacks highs and mids are muddy. Not sure I’ve ever found this with other speakers - but these sound better louder. The build quality also is not great. They look decent from a distance but close inspection equals poor joins and seems. The grill covers are flimsy. Sort of the story with this entry price point these days. I also recently purchased a pair of klipsch with same size woofer but with their horn loaded tweeter. At list price they and the Polk are pretty close. If they’d been same price I’d paid I would be retuning the polls. The polks have ended up in my workshop and the klipsh in my office. Maybe that helps describe the difference. Loud and muddy in the shop. Bright and bassy in the office!! ... show more

  • Incredible Value, Very Impressed!
Style: 10" Subwoofer (XT10)
One word, value. I have an SVS-1000 and I get similar bass quality from this Polk XT10. I’ve been very impressed with this sub. Fits perfectly under the desk, works perfect with my NXZT pc speakers. Excellent power, ease of setup, sound quality, range, durability, and looks modern and professional. Love Polk. My main living setup has been Polk for years now. You go Polk! ... show more

  • Polk Audio Home Theater System Review Blown Away!
Style: 12" Subwoofer (XT12)
Let me start by saying I never leave reviews. But after finishing my dedicated theater room and firing up my Polk Audio setup, I had to make an exception. Simply put: I'm blown away. My system includes: 2 Polk XT70 Towers 2 XT30 Centers (yes, two centers, and clarity is unreal) 2 OWM3s for rear surround 1 XT12 Subwoofer Powered by a Denon AVR-S570BT I spent around $1,200–$1,300 on this setup, and it performs like something three to four times that price. I tested it with everything from Star Wars, Top Gun: Maverick, Mission: Impossible, Transformers, and the full Marvel catalog. Every explosion, orchestral swell, and whispered line is crisp, dynamic, and immersive. The sub hits hard when needed, and the highs and mids are perfectly balanced. Dialogue clarity is exceptional, and music playback is just as impressive, with a wide soundstage, tight bass, and clean highs. As someone working in film and television, I use this system to review projects before sending them to streaming platforms. It gives me confidence that our audio is tight across all frequencies and plays beautifully on real-world systems. If you're looking for a budget-friendly, high-performance setup, get yourself a Polk system and pair it with a Denon AVR. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. The smile on my face during the first listen said it all. ... show more
