  • Well Made High End Faucet
Color: GROHE CHROME Style: 21-1/4 in. Faucet height
I purchased the Chrome K7 Medium through Amazon Warehouse on Prime Day when there was 20% off. It was described as used with less than 5% cosmetic damage. What I received was obviously new in like new condition for $240. For those on a budget I would recommend checking the warehouse deals. If you're not happy with the condition you can return it for free. The two one way check valves or as others have referred to them as pressure reducers are easy to remove. They will reduce flow somewhat since they have a smaller hole for the water to travel through. I'm on a catchment system with pump and pressure tank. My water pressure varies between 30 psi and 50 psi depending how much I've drawn off from the pressure tank. I had removed both "restrictors" but ended up reinstalling them since the volume of water without them was causing too much splashing in the sink. I suspect those that have issues with flow were having debris getting caught in the "restrictors" due to not flushing out the water supply lines before making the connections to the faucet. For those that removed the "restrictors" and still had flow issues, I suspect the problem is debris in the cartridge or possibly the water supply lines. Or the screen on the nozzle that can be accessed with the special supplied tool. There are no other places for the flow to be reduced, especially down to a trickle. These are easy to check using the correct Allen wrench and small crescent wrench. For those that have experienced leaking, I suspect it's the fitting that is under the base of the spring beneath the plastic fitting the spring rides on. My was hand tight and would loosen up when swiveling the faucet. Easy to tighten with a small crescent wrench to avoid loosening. If the supply lines on the faucet are not long enough to reach the water supply valves under the sink, both Lowes and Home Depot (Amazon too, I'm sure) carry braided nylon or stainless lines with 3/8" male commpression to 3/8" female with washer. Assuming you valve is 3/8", these will extend the length of water lines on the faucet. By removing the nut and compression ring from braided line, it will make a watertight seal to the faucet supply line. The faucet cannot be mounted with handle on front or left side due the arc the faucet swivels through. If you don't have enough clearance for the lever to rotate back, you could mount it a bit rotated clockwise but you will lose some of the swivel to the right and now it will swivel pass the sink basin on the left to above the counter. In this case, I'd probably go with a different faucet. The nozzle is metal, not plastic. You have choice of spray or stream. When in spray mode if you reduce volume or turn off faucet, it reverts back to stream (like most faucets). I like that this style faucet has no pull out weighted or sprung hose to get caught up under the sink. Or additional fitting for pullout that can be the cause of unseen water leaks. Everything is above the sink. This is an extremely well made high quality faucet that will last a long time. I highly recommend this faucet if you like this style. Just make sure water lines are flushed before connecting and to check the above areas for debris and tightness before forming a bad opinion. ... show more

  • Results of the test of time
Color: GROHE CHROME Style: 21-1/4 in. Faucet height
I paid lot of money for this thing eight years ago, but in the end it proved to have had little value. I admit I have hard water, but I have other faucets the are still operating just fine after 30-years of use. But this kitchen faucet began to fail after about seven years. At first it was leaks where the faucet head connects to the braided hose. With normal use the head would begin to unscrew itself and water would leak past the o-ring seal; I was forced to re-tightening the thing daily. Then there was another leak that I could never contain, where the braided hose connects to the swivel body . The appearance of the braided metal hose then began to deteriorate (oxidize) because of hard water deposits. You can't clean the braided metal hose, so it began to look ugly. I believe it was because of these leaks that the swivel body itself began to bind up so it became more and more difficult to to rotate the neck between the two sinks. It didn't take long before the swivel froze and the entire faucet began to slowly unscrew itself from the sink whenever the neck was moved from sink to sink. This was not an easy install to begin with, and replacing the d***n thing took almost a whole day. In the end I would not buy another one of these even if it was half the price. Beware of this design that uses only one sink hole, especially if you have hard water; it can't possibly be "locked" to the sink and will eventually unscrew itself. Time has revealed the weaknesses of this faucet design. I threw it in the trash and got the same kind of three-hole faucet that I had for over twenty years. ... show more

  • I love this fixture
Color: GROHE SUPERSTEEL Style: 21-1/4 in. Faucet height
I love this fixture. Have not seen a better piece for the kitchen. The day the moen broke I went out looking for a new faucet. Showrooms had awful selections. Overall really bad experience because I had no idea that stores didn't actually stock high-dollar faucets. I was under the impression that if they had it in their display it was available for sale that day. So basically I was wrong and I turned to Amazon. I first ordered one that I thought would work but when it came to my door it was too tall and I just didn't really like the quality too much. So I decided to pay twice the price and go with this Grohe. One thing I've seen people say is that it swivels 360 mine only does the oneighty. The other point I'd like to mention is it there's a lot of talk about the water flow and it can be fixed by removing the regulator inside of the handle. I don't think that this is true I think that when you read the instructions you can see that there is an actual adjustment if you remove the on-off handle. Once you remove that you can tweak the settings and how much water flow you get through the faucet. Of course I haven't tried out the adjustment yet but I'm thinking about it because I could use just a little bit more water pressure. If you remove the regulator you will experience excessive dripping Once you turn the water off. Either way this is a great faucet awesome quality and altogether great purchase fully satisfied. ... show more
