I originally had a Greenworks 21" mower and, given that I have about a 1/3rd of an acre to mow, I wanted something with a wider cut. The other thing that appealed to me is that this particular unit accommodates two batteries and automatically switches over from one to the other when the first battery is drained, which extends the length of time I can mow before having to switch batteries. Depending upon the thickness of my lawn (length of the grass), I can usually complete my mowing with 2.5 batteries or so, which is convenient. I like that there is also one lever for deck height adjustment (as opposed to some mowers I have used where each wheel is adjusted independently and, if one wheel becomes jarred, the deck mows at an off-kilter angle). The wheels are a good diameter and the self-propel function is convenient (although I do not use it often; I prefer to self-propel to get a little exercise when mowing). There are a few things that I have noticed that may be negatives. The mower is "short" from front to back and, as a result, when mowing up a hill, it can be a bit of a challenge to ensure the deck remains flat with the grade of the hill (as opposed to tipping back or driving the unit forward). The speed adjustment on the self-propel feature is too easy to bump and change. (It would be nice if there were "click stops" so that it stayed where it was set.) Another thing that causes me a little worry is that the wheels "lock" with the self-propel and do not seem to unlock without pushing the mower forward a bit. This is a problem when mowing around trees using the self-propel because I cannot just disengage the self-propel and back up the mower... The wheels are locked. I have to tip the mower onto its front wheels, pull the mower back, and then push the mower forward (without the self-propel) to unlock the wheels. The concerning thing for me is that my previous Greenworks mower eventually locked the wheels permanently. I can no longer use the mower without the self-propel feature (I also cannot pull the mower backward as the rear wheels are permanently locked). I am hoping this is not a problem that crops up with this mower, but it is a concern. Lastly, I have no idea why there are headlights on the mower. Who mows in the dark? While the LEDs probably do not consume much power, I would much rather prefer that the batteries be used for mowing and self-propelling the mower, not illuminating some useless headlights. Overall, though, my concerns are minor and the mower works well. I love how quiet it is compared to a gasoline-powered mower and also enjoy no longer having to purchase gas at $3+ per gallon to mow the lawn. I did have to buy extra batteries and a charging unit to accommodate my larger lawn, but I am happy with the purchase so far.

This is a replacement for a gas mower. Was surprised how smooth it operated and only used half battery power on a one acre yard. Hight adjustments are one lever and easy to use. It takes a minute to get used to the self drive levers without stopping blades, but it starts up again effortlessly. Highly recommended.

This is absolutely the worst mower I have ever owned. It doesn't cut evenly and leaves high ridges everywhere. I have to go over the entire lawn twice in a different direction to cut the grass evenly. In addition, it leaves huge clumps of cut grass randomly, even when I use the grass catcher bag. The blades gum up instantly if the lawn is even slightly wet. I have to turn the mower over and muck out stuck grass. The battery dies in 20 minutes, probably a defective one that came with the mower. DO NOT BUY THIS NON-RETURNABLE MOWER.

First my concerns. Ordering as usual through Amazon no issue, however shortly afterwards that's when some issues arose. Seller was not firm on delivery date, provided me an erroneous delivery status as 'having been delivered', and even provided an erroneous delivery photo as evidence. This took quite some time to sort out through some emails from me to seller informing them that I would cancel order and certainly file an 'appropriate' review, based on their delivery performance. Must admit that response from seller was always timely, but often indeterminate, inaccurate, and in some cases I would say maybe misleading. However mower was finally delivered, and I have been using it since fall 2023. Now as far as the mower itself. Certainly is lighter than I'm used to but I attribute that to the fact that it has small electric motors as opposed to a larger gasoline engine. Deck construction seems to be solid and so far cutting and mulching seems to be satisfactory. The cutting and how it leaves my lawn looking certainly compares to my Honda which this mower is replacing. Mulching is another matter not quite as good as the Honda. Now seeing as I've only had this more since September 2023 and only experienced a late summer/fall use, will be interesting to see how it goes through spring and summer here in Louisiana. Overall good mower, would purchase it again. LIKES: Does what it says it will do. Quiet Very easy to use. Seems to get every possible amp out of the batteries. This is good and bad(?), see dislikes below Dislikes/Concerns: Center of gravity seems (IMHO) to be too far to the rear. Makes it easy too raise the front wheels for turning but over uneven terrain or even if you inadvertently put too much weight on the handles during regular mowing, front wheels are off the ground. Going too fast will cause the motor to 'trip', ie the 'four beep' warning I've read about other places and other reviews. I found that simply removing the batteries and replacing them clears the trip, so will see how suitable it is for long term heavy mowing heavy grass at a normal walking speed. Also during normal mowing, it appears that the battery is discharged fast enough to cause them to overheat. So if you're planning to use the batteries to their full capacity, in other words run them until they are "0" charged, be prepared to wait a while until you can start charging them again. The chargers will give you an overheat warning and will not charge the batteries. Verified this with GreenWorks Also there is no way to turn off the headlights on the mower. Really Greenworks!?!?!? Blades are very thin compared to regular (gasoline) mowers. Will be easy to sharpen, but worried about longevity and durability of the blades. And in just an appeal to GreenWorks, Milwaukee, Rigid, Ego, Kobalt, Ryobi, Black and Decker, Sunjoe et. al., in other words, anyone who manufactures and sells battery operated tools and rate their batteries in amp-hours. Can you provide your tested/expected battery life estimates under various conditions. Surely you do, or should(?), have that data. Or better yet, a simple amp meter built into the battery that allows the user to see the amp draw and do a quick estimate of the ‘time’ remaining on the charge.
