  • Nice, wide 25" cut and no more gasoline to buy
Size: 25" Mower (Tool Only)
I originally had a Greenworks 21" mower and, given that I have about a 1/3rd of an acre to mow, I wanted something with a wider cut. The other thing that appealed to me is that this particular unit accommodates two batteries and automatically switches over from one to the other when the first battery is drained, which extends the length of time I can mow before having to switch batteries. Depending upon the thickness of my lawn (length of the grass), I can usually complete my mowing with 2.5 batteries or so, which is convenient. I like that there is also one lever for deck height adjustment (as opposed to some mowers I have used where each wheel is adjusted independently and, if one wheel becomes jarred, the deck mows at an off-kilter angle). The wheels are a good diameter and the self-propel function is convenient (although I do not use it often; I prefer to self-propel to get a little exercise when mowing). There are a few things that I have noticed that may be negatives. The mower is "short" from front to back and, as a result, when mowing up a hill, it can be a bit of a challenge to ensure the deck remains flat with the grade of the hill (as opposed to tipping back or driving the unit forward). The speed adjustment on the self-propel feature is too easy to bump and change. (It would be nice if there were "click stops" so that it stayed where it was set.) Another thing that causes me a little worry is that the wheels "lock" with the self-propel and do not seem to unlock without pushing the mower forward a bit. This is a problem when mowing around trees using the self-propel because I cannot just disengage the self-propel and back up the mower... The wheels are locked. I have to tip the mower onto its front wheels, pull the mower back, and then push the mower forward (without the self-propel) to unlock the wheels. The concerning thing for me is that my previous Greenworks mower eventually locked the wheels permanently. I can no longer use the mower without the self-propel feature (I also cannot pull the mower backward as the rear wheels are permanently locked). I am hoping this is not a problem that crops up with this mower, but it is a concern. Lastly, I have no idea why there are headlights on the mower. Who mows in the dark? While the LEDs probably do not consume much power, I would much rather prefer that the batteries be used for mowing and self-propelling the mower, not illuminating some useless headlights. Overall, though, my concerns are minor and the mower works well. I love how quiet it is compared to a gasoline-powered mower and also enjoy no longer having to purchase gas at $3+ per gallon to mow the lawn. I did have to buy extra batteries and a charging unit to accommodate my larger lawn, but I am happy with the purchase so far. ... show more

  • Time savers
Size: 25" Mower + Trimmer + Blower (4.0Ah + 2.5Ah)
These tools are great, no more gas, oil, filters, loud noises and fumes, the batteries charge much faster than advertised, after one year of use, I can recommend this combo unequivocally.

  • Time to go electric
Size: 25" Mower (Tool Only)
Powerful and rugged mower. Gas performance equivalent. Gets through heavy weeds well. Even better on a lawn. Get 2 big batteries and you can swap one out while one is charging.

  • Decent deal.
I haven't been actually used it yet and God willing it will be a good choice, but I am impressed with it so far. I was worried about the rumors that debris can bust the Teflon gears and that greenworks doesn't sell them. I quickly found replacement gears on Amazon that weren't crazy expensive. Unfortunately you have to replace all the gears as the new ones won't mesh or something. Still that's better than scrapping a $500 mower over nothing. Plus I will probably buy 3 sets or something just in case. It's a great looking mower it's got self propelled that seems effective enough. My other desires was extra battery and manual turbo mode. It's got all that and as long as the twin blades cut well enough it should be everything I want if not more. If it struggles I still have my base model 21 inch 80v mower. I played with it and the cut looks good, but it's winter and the grass isn't very tall. Everything works well and was very smooth. I don't quite know how or why it seems smoother than the 21 inch 80v mower other than maybe it's extra weight makes it less hoppy over uneven lawns. Or maybe it's just new. I was wondering if the features would be cumbersome. It seems like everything worked without any actual problems at all like I have been using for months. So I guess it's more intuitive than I thought as many people complain about the self-propelled feature. The trimmer is going to my dad and seems better made than mine, but I just like the operation of my model better as I don't understand why it's got a speed switch when the trigger is fully tease able. Seems like my older model is faster, but I didn't really mess with it much as I didn't want to get it very dirty. ... show more

  • Cuts like a dream, glad I have it.
Size: 25" Mower (Tool Only)
Well, the one I have now replaced the first one I purchased. You will see many complaints about the after purchase customer service, and the difficulties getting issues resolved. It took me a few days to resolve a problem, but the response was great eventually. I was given a replacement because the repair facility was far from me My mower didn't self propelled, and the new one does The 25 inch cutting width us sweet! It climbs the hills like a goat, and it cuts like a dream!! The battery life is affected by the crazy heat we've been experiencing, but it still doesn't take long to get done. It really cuts better than any other mower I've tried. ... show more

  • Mower is too under powered
Size: 25" Mower + Trimmer + Blower (4.0Ah + 2.5Ah)
I got this mower combo as I have big lawn, and wanted something green and wide enough to tackle. It’s spring, so grass is growing fast. If you use the bag, the mower bag fills up literally within 2 mins. If you go with the mulch attachment, then the mower clogs up roughly once every minute or so. Note I’m using mowing height of 3, and I’ve been mowing on average about 7-9 days. Long story short, this mower is just not able to keep up with a healthy lawn at all. The blower works fine, and the trimmer is ok although it’s on the heavier side. ... show more
