This is a powerful trimmer and the heavier line cuts through thick stemmed weeds/grass effortlessly. The shoulder strap helps distribute the weight plus the battery life is long enough to get a lot done.

Putting it together wasn't too bad. Figuring out how to load the string was a bit tricky, but I managed. It works great and has a lot of power, but it's heavy and not comfy to hold for long. I have to keep changing positions.

    • Powerful enough to tackle a PNW yard

Opened the box and plugged the battery into the charge unit. Took me about 20 minutes to assemble the trimmer. When I was finished the battery was fully charged! Took it for a spin and started with trimming edges all around my garden. Approximately 40 minutes or so. Then jumped over my fence and took on overgrown Oregon native blackberries and tall grasses along 20 feet of my fence line. Chewed through the thick stuff with little effort. Battery died out after about 15-20 mins. Total run time was about an hour. Plugged the battery back into the charger and took 15 minutes to recharge. Trimmer felt balanced and not too heavy. Comes with a strap but I didn't need it. Motor is plenty powerful enough to tackle a PNW yard! Blackberries and all !! ... show more

    • Spool cover stuck, can't remove or feed line. Useless.

2nd purchase of the same item. Both times, the spool cover gets stuck and I can't remove or feed line. Totally useless. Pressing both tabs on each side of spool cover requires a very large hand to squeeze. Shield cracked after 10 uses. Greenworks support didn't help. Too late to return.

The media could not be loaded. It seems to work as good as my gas powered, I get about 45 minutes of work and then I get a break to charge the battery an hour then back out! I hope it last?

Deserve the money, it is light weight, clean energy, fast charging, super powerful, and yesss the battery last for good time. This review wrote on my first month of buying it so hopefully stays like that.
