  • A powerful, reliable, easy-to-use cordless exceptional tool for maintaining a neat & tidy yard!
Size: New 13" Trimmer (2.0Ah)
The Greenworks 40V 13-Inch Cordless String Trimmer / Edger (Gen 2) is an exceptional tool for maintaining a neat and tidy yard! This trimmer is lightweight and easy to handle, making yard work a breeze. The 40V battery provides plenty of power, allowing me to trim and edge my entire lawn on a single charge. The 13-inch cutting path is perfect for getting the job done quickly and efficiently, and the dual functionality as a trimmer and edger is incredibly convenient. I love how easy it is to switch between trimming and edging modes, and the results are always clean and precise. The battery charges quickly and holds its charge well, so I’m always ready to tackle the next task. This trimmer is a fantastic addition to my lawn care routine, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, reliable, and easy-to-use cordless tool! ... show more

  • Superior product at affordable price
Size: New 13" Trimmer (2.0Ah)
Light weight, powerful, effective, easy to maneuver, interchangeable 40V battery with other Greenworks tools. Once the trimmer line is properly attached to the spool, and then wound up, self feeding works flawlessly. I found it can take a larger diameter line for more robust cutting.

  • Works as good as the other G-Max products.
Size: 13" Trimmer (Tool Only)
Got this after buying the 16 inch chain saw. I had a really old weed whacker and figured it was time to replace it. My old one was a corded electric version. I don't like the cords. Step on them, trip on them and it's a hassle. Or after time like with mine the cord would come unplugged frequently and I'd end up having to bend the prongs to try to keep it in longer. Assembly was simple. Used it to touch up the yard and it was fine. Then on to the big test - whacking down all the spring weed growth in my vegetable garden. Good news is that it had more power than my very old corded version. Auto line feed worked fine. We had a lot of rain so the weeds in my garden were significant - some of them already were about 18 inches tall and base stalk diameters were close to an inch. This thing didn't have any problems. I was able to touch up my small back yard and whack down all the garden weeds with one fully charged battery. Only downside I experienced is that removing the battery was a major pain. Before using it I plugged in a battery to see if it would work. I could barely get the battery out (yes I pushed the little battery lever). I got my spare battery out and plugged it in and tried to remove it - same thing. Maybe I haven't perfected the technique since I've only used it once but it wasn't a small deal. Both my batteries and the trimmer are really new (bought them with the chain saw) - maybe with time it won't be so hard to remove the batteries But removing the battery from the chain saw is much easier than with this. But this was the only bad thing I can think of. Updated 6-9-14: Ok, I seem to have some of the same "auto feed" problems others are experiencing. Went to wack a bunch of different weeds down that were very tall. It worked pretty good but the larger diameter weeds caused the string to break sometimes or thick vine type of weeds broke the line. It wouldn't auto feed. I took it apart and the problem seems to be with the line on the spool itself. It wouldn't auto feed because some of the line was almost anchored to the rest of the line in spots - almost too well anchored. At one point pulling on the line to break the "melt point" resulted in me breaking the line?! It was super frustrating - but I didn't want to waste the entire spool and would go through the ridiculous process of removing the spool each time the cord was too short and manually pulling longer lengths through. I purchased a 3 pack of new spools. I'll try them out and hopefully they are better. I also have trimmer line already and will try to figure out if I can re-line the existing spools somehow. No ding on number of stars just yet. Thing was a champ taking out some weeds with diameter of 1 inch not to mention how thick and tough some of the weeds were. For just regular grass it's still a champ. ... show more

  • Will sell to someone most likely
Size: 13" Trimmer (Tool Only)
I bought this to replace the 12" model from 2020. That model, I had modified to be more similar to an old B&D that I had. The B&D had a simple slide coupling on the shaft by the head that allowed you to rotate the head for edging, something I missed on the Greenworks 12" trimmer. My resolution, disassemble the shaft connector on the trimmer, drill a 2nd hole for the locking pop-up. This allowed me to "simply" loosen the wingnut on the coupling, push in the pop-up and rotate the head. Not great, but honestly worked great. When the 13" Greenworks trimmer / edger came out, I said I would give it a try. I read many many review, many bad, yet still bought it to see if I would like it. Note that I have not used for any longer than 5 minutes yet, so I will update after a long use. Observations I have made so far: 1. Heavier than the 12" though it is quite shorter. Note the descriptions say otherwise, yet if feels heavier to me. I believe that this is a balance issue. I am about 6' tall and find it uncomfortable to hold. With the forward grip as far forward as the coupling, when held at the grip, the trimmer was vertical. My old 12" is nearly horizontal with the same test. 2. The Trimmer is single line, meaning only 1 line is out and cutting vs 2 on the 12" 3. The spool cover is very difficult to remove compared to the 12". Not sure if it is "newness", but I almost opted to grab a tool of some sort to remove it. 4. The battery is on top of the handle portion, such that it is right where your forearm / elbow want to be. This is the biggest deal breaker for me. On the 12", the battery went in the back like this one, yet it went straight back. On this one, it sticks up, forcing you to bend your arm to hold it. After 45 minutes of use my arm / elbow / wrist were quite sore. See the attached pic. 5. It takes thinner string than the 13". I did not notice this on the spec when I purchased, not really concerned, but it should be noted. The 13" takes .0625" dia line. I found that this line broke much quicker during edging. I found myself constantly advancing string. 6. There is a wheel on the guard for edging. Great idea, however, the distance from the wheel to the guard is about 1-1.5". As a result, if you have thicker lawn, the guard is going to get caught on the grass. I used the wheel about 10% of the time, found it more trouble than it's worth. 7. The change from trimming to edging is easy, that part they got right. 8. I found the spool cover very difficult to remove. It appears that the holes for the push in tabs are further down the spool than on the 12" such that they are close the hub and you can not get good leverage to push them in. I did this 5 times and nearly went to get a tool to have handy for the next time. I ran this for about 45 minutes, maybe 5 minutes trimming, rest edging. I really wanted to like it, but that is not the case. One comment others made was about the string not coming out of the hole. I had to remove the cover and reroute the string 4 times. I found the issue to be the factory wound string was too tight. My takeaway from this trimmer is that they had a lot of ideas and slapped them on it without proper evaluation. Some of the quirks I could over look, but the battery placement / orientation was the deal breaker for me. Since I paid about 55 for this, I will either sell it or possibly see if I can gut it and use it the articulating head with my 12". Speaking of the 12" , after running the 13" for 45 minutes, I used my 12" for some trimming I forgot about. It was so comfortable. ... show more
