This tripod is heavy, yes, but its one of the reasons it performs so well, like a Sachtler (Funny, just saw one on the set of the Great British Baking Show as I was typing this) or Vinten that costs a whole lot more. Not enough weight means jerky panning and tilting, at least in my opinion. The mid-level spreader is a nice plus when setting up for a shot on uneven terrain. I greatly prefer it to a ground spreader. One of my favorite features is the ball head. The handle to loosen the ball is very large, allowing me to (balance the head and) tighten it down quickly and securely. The motion on the head is very nice, too, approaching a pricy fluid head. The clips to hold the legs together while the tripod is collapsed aren't very heavy so they'll fail with heavy use, but I've never had a tripod with these types of clips so I'm not too worried about them breaking. The rest of the tripod is very well made. The locks are sturdy. All in all, a VERY nice tripod with truly professional features at an amazingly reasonable price. I expect to get very good use and great videos out of mine. A beautiful pan is well worth the weight, always.

I OWN A NUMBER OF TRIPODS. THIS ONE IS GREAT. QUICK EASY SETUP. QUALITY APPEARS TO BE VERY GOOD. I HAVE ONLY USED IT A FEW TIMES ... I AM PLEASED SO FAR. I PURCHASED THIS SPECIFICALLY TO USE WITH MY SMART TELESCOPE AFTER SOMEONE RECOMMENDED IT IN AN ASTRONOMY GROUP. WOULD WORK WELL WITH A CAMERA WITH ANY LENS BUT ESPECIALLY WITH A BIG TELEPHOTO. VERY EASY TO ADJUST. I LIKE THAT IT HAS THE FLIP LEG LOCKS AS OPPOSED TO THE TWIST TYPE.

I recently upgraded to an extreme telephoto camera and assumed my old tripod would be up to the task—it had handled my DSLR with a 240mm lens just fine. I was wrong. I needed something rock-solid, and found it in the NEEWER 79" Tripod. This is not a lightweight, toss-in-your-day-bag tripod. It’s a heavy-duty outdoor platform built to keep your camera steady. If you notice camera shake while using this, you’re probably in the middle of an earthquake. The fluid drag head delivers smooth, controlled pan and tilt movements, even at extreme magnification. Once you lock the camera in place, it stays put—no drift. I don’t shoot much video, but with a load capacity of nearly 18 pounds, I’m confident this tripod would be an excellent choice for videographers as well.

The media could not be loaded. Came broken I did buy it used but it was supposed to be in very good condition only way to use it is with a screwdriver the little knob on the side is kind of deceiving it doesn't really change the strength of the fluid head the fluid head is a little bit jittery you have to lock it otherwise it will literally not hold the Ursa with a V mount battery It is a Camtree not a neewer brand probably produced in a factory Good for stationary work I am a little worried about the quality for the price I paid I mean it's great but just know it's a bit risky with more expensive equipment over all 4 out of 5 stars mostly because of price it's not a not a lite tripod but in my case that's a big positive it also includes an awesome carrying bag likely to break zippers but solid add on for portability

Estoy muy contento con este trípode de NEEWER. La calidad de construcción es sobresaliente, se siente muy sólido y estable, lo que me da confianza al montar mi cámara. La cabeza de fluido es increíblemente suave, permitiendo paneos e inclinaciones fluidas sin los movimientos bruscos que he visto en otros trípodes. Me encanta la placa de liberación rápida, ya que hace que montar y desmontar la cámara sea un proceso muy rápido y eficiente, ideal cuando estoy en movimiento. Además, el separador de nivel medio le da una estabilidad extra, lo que es perfecto para mis tomas en exteriores. Es un poco más pesado que otros trípodes, pero eso se traduce en una mayor estabilidad, lo cual es lo que busco para mis grabaciones. Definitivamente es una excelente opción para quienes buscan un trípode profesional y duradero sin gastar una fortuna. ¡Totalmente recomendado!"

I got this to use with my Neewer camera mounts. It's stable and sturdy. So far, I've used it on mostly flat grounds but I'm anxious to take it out on some sloping areas as well. I'm thinking I may even try it with my telescope.
