  • Lightweight. Great for small yards. Surprisingly powerful.
Size: 16" Corded Mower
I own a townhouse, so my yard is tiny at 325 sq ft. For years, I used a reel mower and a weedwhacker to take care of it and it would take about 45 mins to an hour, depending on how long the grass and weeds had gotten. I’m not great about doing yard-work because I live where the weather is hot and humid about 7.5 months out of the year. My house is also built on what used to be a swamp, so I get ginormous dandelions with thick stems, weird bushy weeds that have a woody consistency, and other tough weeds I refer to as “swamp weeds.” No weed killer I’ve found seems to stop these plants from growing. The swamp weeds are persistent and the weather stinks, so it means I usually cut the grass about once a month. This lawnmower has reduced my yard-work to about 15 mins when it’s ankle high and about 30 mins when it’s knee high. Set on level 2, the mower can handle tall grass in one pass. It takes out the swamp weeds in one pass. It takes out the prehistoric size dandelions in one pass. It gets close enough to the fence, the house foundation, and the bases of my container planters to reduce the weedwhacking to whacking around the hvac and the corners of the yard. If the mower is set on the shortest cutting level, it will take the yard down to pretty much dirt. But my weedy yard grows back anyway. This mower is electric and corded, but I don’t find that hard to manage. If I toss the cord over my shoulder and use a straight line mowing strategy (moving forward, then backwards) instead of using the big rectangle mowing strategy, the cord is not an issue at all. And the mower cuts effectively going both forward and backward as long as you continue to squeeze the handle. For a lawnmower, this machine weighs nothing. It’s easy to get in and out of the shed. It’s easy to start. The squeeze handle is easy to keep engaged, even for somebody who has small hands like I do. I don’t use the bag. I let it mulch. The only thing I don’t like may be a product of where I live, rather than the fault of the mower. The shoot where the cut grass comes out clogs up pretty easy, especially if the yard is damp. Living in a humid area, the grass is usually damp unless it’s the middle of the summer when it gets blistering hot and the grass will dry out during the day. But, like I said, I don’t think the clogging is the mower’s fault. I think it’s a product of the climate zone I live in. Overall, the mower saves me time and saves my balky back. It’s easy to use and store. It does a great job on my tiny lawn. I like the cord because I don’t have to worry about charging batteries, too. I highly recommend it for small yards. ... show more

  • Perfect for small yards and small humans.
Size: 14" Mower (4.0Ah)
I was a little skeptical when this mower first arrived. I'm a pocket sized adult unfortunately that seemed to stop growing at 12, 112pds and 5ft. I was able to lift and carry the box in myself and after opening the box was able to lift the mower out with one hand (thankful for the handy little handle on the main portion of the mower.) I was a little disappointed to see this mower was mostly plastic bits. Once assembled (again, almost obscenely simple process) I used the convenient handle to lift and carry it back outside. After charging the battery and cranking this baby up, I was officially in love. I have bought several mowers, and every one of them were irritating to either carry, assemble or use. She may be small but she is mighty! I previously thought it was a brilliant idea to avoid irritating my neighbors with the noise and stupidly have been using a manual push mower, so my review may be colored by the difficulty of pushing through dense annoyingly healthy grass and weeds, but this mower is so quiet, I could hear my music on my headphones that I left around my neck. Even my husband on the video game inside didn't hear it. And the glory of gripping on to a mower that practically pushed itself was like an ice cold water being handed to you in a mosh pit as far from consessions as you can get. The height adjustment is great also. My 6'3 husband can push it as easily as I can, and so can my 10 year old (she is not happy about an added chore from time to time and that brings its own joy) Operation is dummy proof and it cuts through the heartiest of weeds like butter. The only downside is the grass catcher. I did need to empty it many times, but that was more due to my procrastination due to having unfortunate mowers until today. Now I'm almost excited to see the grass grow annoyingly fast in monsoon season. All in all, this is an amazing mower for the price. It may not cut a wide path but that in itself is convenient for getting into the smaller spaces that seem unreasonably designed for a grassy swath of lawn. There is also a mulch plug which I also found convenient for my flower bed projects. I have a decent sized corner lot, and even with some heavy overgrowth in the back yard the battery lasted through 80% of my lot and recharged faster than my overused tablet charges. And my reservations on the plastic construction of it were unfounded. The materials are durable, even with my inherently clumsy nature, and the safety features are a big relief for that also. There is a safety key I can remove when I need to step away with my kids in the yard with me and start up is gentle so it doesn't scare the little humans so irritatingly playing in the middle of my planned route. So I have to give this a rare 5 star rating for being so perfectly made for small humans as well as large hulking beasts of a husband. And again, I must point out how quiet it is. Not a single eye roll from the neighbors with a new baby at 8 am!!! I did not have high hopes while assembling so I did not take any photos unfortunately. But if I can talk myself into avoiding mowing long enough to let the weeds have their 5 minutes of fame I will revise with some visuals. Highly recommended.
