Features

  • Unique Blade Design for Easy Split- New exclusive patent cast steel blade on firewood kindling splitter is well designed with an easy split blade edge and fixed in the overall high place, which leaves enough bottom space when split logs fall down. Extra 10 unique-shaped wedges are specially designed and spaced to help further splitting of larger pieces of kindling.
  • Wide Side Rods for Strong Support- Manual heavy-duty log splitter constructs two wide & thick side rods with arrow shapes for better support and fixation. We reserved a groove below the connection of the rod and blade on each rod, which is more stressed and prevents the cutter head from falling. Just be confident when you chop wood.
  • Thick Steel Bottom for Stability- The bottom cast steel is designed as hexagonal with 4 bulges reserved, which helps to dispersion forces. Besides, there are 4 mounting holes reserved, which can be fixed with screws and wooden piles, making the firewood kindling cutter tool more stable in use. A waterproof and dust-proof Oxford cloth PU coating cover is equipped when placed outdoors.
  • Portable Tool for Multiple UsesGREENER log splitter is a perfect portable tool for your backyard stack and firewood, widely use when outdoor camping, barbecue, picnic, etc.
  • GREENER offers a one-year warranty from the purchase date, covering defects not caused by misuse. Any questions during use? Reach out to our customer service for assistance. Trust GREENER's commitment to quality and your satisfaction.

  • Not sharp enough
Scent: With Hammer Size: XXL
I disagree with the reviews on here. I have a 1/2 cord of eucalyptus and oak that need to broken down. I bought this tool in the hopes that it would make my life easier. It doesn’t. To its credit, the tool is well-made and sturdy. Unfortunately the blade just isn’t sharp and I have a hell of time trying to split wood with it. I purchased the xxl with included hammer and played around with it for about 15 minutes until I went back to my axe. It may work well for softer wood but hard wood is basically impossible to split. I may take a file and sharpening stone to it and see if I can make it work for me or I may send it back. Not sure yet. ... show more

It works pretty good. Although, its home is down by my fire pit and it probably should have gone on something that I could have taken out of the weather.

  • Very sturdy
Scent: With Hammer Size: XXL
I’ve wanted one of these for a while, and I’ve seen the more mainstream version which has the closed ring. This one touts itself for having the open ring and being able to fit larger or uneven pieces of wood, which is totally true. I was really blown away by how effective this splitter is compared to using a hatchet. One quick tap with the sledgehammer for each piece. No getting stuck or twisted. I love it. Build quality is quite good, everything for well, and it looks like the ring base is forge welded, rather than just crimped closed. I expect this to last a very long time. ... show more

  • Kindling isn't so much of a chore anymore.
Scent: No Hammer Size: XXL
I am a particularly weak person and since my husband and I use firewood out here during the winter as a major heat source, firewood is important to split up and to have stacked near the house. I have never been able to split firewood with a splitting maul, my husband can do it, but it is with great difficulty as it is a hard task. Every time he does it, I am always impressed knowing that it is something he can do, yet not me. Well, this makes splitting wood so much easier, so easy that I can even do it! The rounded space for the firewood can accommodate up to a huge log of firewood, but my husband and I tried it out with 12"" diameter rounds of wood. With the back of our splitting maul, we smacked the wood and it split almost effortlessly. I couldn't believe how fluid the entire mechanism worked! It only does one log per use, which is totally fine and that is usually how we split wood with our motorized wood splitter, and it goes to show that if something like me can do it, anyone can do it! It's so easy, but you still feel a little like you split firewood! ... show more

  • Lightweight, effective firewood log splitter.
Scent: No Hammer Size: XXL
I ordered this GREENER XXL Firewood Log Splitter with Open Top - Solid Cast Steel Kindling Wood Splitter on VINE because the wood splitter I already have is a closed top (circle top?) and the larger pieces of wood don't always fit inside the diameter of the enclosure. I tried this splitter with one of the large Mesquite logs I have that didn't fit in the other one. Finding a balance for the log took a minute but I finally lined it up and proceeded to split it. The blade felt a little dull and it took me longer than I thought it should to split the log, so I took my grinder and ground down the edge a little bit making it sharper. That did the trick! I was able to stick the next piece of log onto the splitter by jamming the log against the now sharper edge and it only took a couple of whacks to split it. The splitter felt solid as I struck the log with my sledgehammer or the hammer edge of my splitting Axe. The open top allows me to split logs that are oddly shaped or have a bigger circumference. ... show more

This is a decent wood splitter for medium to small logs. This easily cuts wood and has a semi ring to help keep the woods anchors before chopping. It is decent weight but need to be propped to a higher ledge. I am also not sure how I will sharpen this but so far the edge has held well.

I decided to use the fireplace and collect a lot of lumber. I did not realize cutting the lumber down to firewood could be so difficult with an axe, given my inexperience. So I got this splitter for a try. Very sturdy mounting to the stump with the screws provided. With the positioning pin on top of the blades, it can be held stable in place with a tap on the lumber. Then the cutting is easy with a hammer that with high tolerance to the hitting position. ... show more

Handy little tool for splitting flat planks of dry wood or moderately sized dry logs. Thing is easy to set up - fours screws with lock washers on the top and four on the bottom. Additional holes, and lag screws provided, for securing this to something sturdy - a piece of thick plywood, perhaps a flat stump. This would help prevent the toppling of the device when you're splitting wood - I chose to use it less forcefully with wooden pallets slats and a hammer. How it works is that you set your wood on the edge and hammer it down - as it moves down, the edge/wedge gets slighter wider causing the wood to split. I wouldn't use wood much longer than the device itself to avoid the wood getting stuck. I feel this is safer than splitting with an axe/hatchet, especially for folks that don't frequently use an axe/hatchet . I make backyard fires in the firepit with my two boys and when I showed them how to make kindling, they wanted to use the axe to split some, too. I don't feel they're ready for that and don't have the necessary skills to do that safely - this is a better choice. Only thing I might do, is weld it together to make it sturdier. For splitting planks/slats, it is great and works as intended. ... show more
