I used it this season it splits medium to small pieces of wood. The wood does have to be dry for this splitter to be effective but you just it’s pretty. It’s really durable. It stays sharp. It stayed sharp for two years. I have not sharpened it yet so I do recommend this

Very strong, solid.
Color: 3 Inch Orange
Solid, strong hunk of metal. Point is strong enough to withstand everything I’ve managed to throw at it. Only fault is that it is not very wide, so you have to really center if you’re using larger pieces. For anything medium to smaller, this is perfect. Won’t take a star away, because I don’t think it’s meant for bigger pieces, but it can certainly handle them.

I purchased this item because I have some small wood to cut. I'm giving the review I'm giving because I purchased a new product and received a broken used product. I shared photos to verify. You can even see pieces of wood left on the blade from the first owner. You can see where this item was used as there are dirt streaks across it. Also, the covering was cracked. It was packaged to appear new. I had to go through the trouble and inconvenience of returning the product and driving to a return location just to amend the issue. I make purchases online for the purpose of avoiding the need to physically go somewhere. So, check your product when it arrives to ensure it's really new. I did receive a replacement and it was in new condition, but that never should have happened to begin with.

Great paperweight, poor wood splitter

one star as a wood splitter, but five stars as a paper weight. the video shows a single strike of a hand sledge and the wood splits. Not true. wood just bounces off the "splitter". i struck logs multiple times and it basically created a small dent in the wood.

Easy to use, quick to use and makes great kindling! I would def keep it away so any children do not get near the very sharp edge with the cover on! Watch when bending over to pick up wood to pay attention and not hit the edge of the axehead! When I need kindling it takes only 10 min to make a box! I use a sledge hammer and it works great!
