This portable beast is perfect for our needs. I love that it doesn't weigh a million lbs, but delivers much more power than those puny electric ones. Customer service was actually really responsive and great when I had a few concerns. I've split 2 full cords of oak so far with it. Be aware that you may need to occasionally tighten the hydraulic fittings if you use it A LOT.

I bought this splitter on amazon in Nov '22 and expected to only use it occasionally. Mother nature had different plans and we were hit with tornado winds in '22, '23, and '24 and had dozens of trees down all year round. I have used this splitter now for 3 years and split well over a thousand rounds. There has not been a single log it could not split, so i view 20 tons as more than adequate for most homeowner use. It starts on first pull every time, and it's easy to use. It is too low and it doesn't cycle very fast, but this is probably the best splitter for the price on the market. It's not a high end semi-pro unit, but it's darn good for it's price.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Be prepared. First time I did not run carburetor out of fuel when I was done using it the float stuck shut. I got lucky and did not have to take carburetor off. Second time I forgot I was not so lucky. Taking carb off is a pain! Fuel line too short to remove carb off studs. They used a 3/16 ID fuel hose over a 1/4 OD hard line on carb? I had to rip it off making it too short to put back on. Remove pull start cover cut fuel line install Quickun plastic 3/16 OD to 1/4 OD barbed reducing union, U.S.A. sealing soft pvc 1/4 ID fuel line and SMGDA 75 piece hose spring clamps and gaskets from Flypig UPC 699990232036. I also got a all new carb LUMIX carb for 7 HP ALPHA WORKS log splitter gas engine. Worked fine no leaks. Now if needed I just unclamp and pull fuel hose bard apart outside of pull start cover. Hydraulic fluid line is next!

OK, I will start with the bad news, the 2 ~5mm pins and clips to attach the control lever to the control block were missing so could not just put it together and get after it! Had to find suitable replacements and I am presently working with Amazon/third party seller to get the parts. BTW, the "contact seller" on the Amazon page is WRONG. had to go through chat to get help with these missing parts so will take a few days, I will post back if I get the proper replacement parts. So I thought the instructions and manual were good, no problems with assembly other than the missing pins! The splitter was well packaged but various parts had minor, cosmetic scratches. Not a big deal to most people, but I would prefer to have a new item without scratches and scrapes on the major components such as the hydraulic ram. There were questions on the oil capacities; mine took a full 2 gallons of hydraulic oil. Per other reviews they said "not quite 2 gallons". I put ~1.8 gallons in, checked the dipstick, then ran it for about a minute and shut it down. Once the hoses were all pressurized the dipstick was low and I put in the full 2 gallons, seems perfect. Ordered another gallon. the motor took about 1/3 qt of oil. Again, after running it for a minute I checked and topped off the crankcase oil too. BTW, started on the second pull! Restarted on first pull on a couple of restarts. So, to splitting; I was only splitting fresh cut pine, maybe 10" diameter max and in 15 minutes I split a bunch of wood! It is soft wood but splits great! I was happy with the speed of the "auto return ram". With a couple people you could crank out some split wood. I only have about an hour on the machine but I am pleasantly surprised on the assembly and operation. I would recommend this splitter for a home unit. Will see how it holds up long term but I am easy on my equipment and I anticipate it lasting a long time. As others have mentioned I had a small drip on the low pressure hose at the hydraulic pump after the first use. I tightened up the hose clamp and may need another or a better clamp, will see if is still drips, I hate drips! Nice item!

The media could not be loaded. Bought this to save money on the bigger 20ton log splitters and it did not disappoint. It’s very easy to use, and was easy to assemble. I also watched a YouTube video on how to put it together. But it’s got a good quality build and is not that heavy for all the power it packs. I was able to split a chord of Ash in under a hour. It may look small but it’s mighty, give it shot and I think you’ll be happy with your decision.
