Product arrived. Noticed bottom corner of the box looked a little rough but nothing too crazy. Unboxed it, took it out it’s wrapping followed the directions to check the water bin before plugging it in and that’s where I found the crack in the bottom and it looked like the product had been used before. The water bin clearly had discoloration and was stained from some form of previous use. Took the photos boxed the product right back up and the product is currently back on my porch waiting to be picked up from UPS. Completely disappointed. Currently waiting for pick up/ the delivery of a new product next week. The only reason why I felt like I had to give some form of stars is because the product did arrive on time. I’ll update this review once we see how the replacement comes in. ... show more

I have no complaints about the unit. It efficiently lowered the humidity in an entire house from 51 to 40% in two hours. The house, in context, is air conditioned and well-circulated, but the A/C could not cope with weeks of humid weather in my location near the Texas Gulf. It is quieter than two "Name-brand" equivalents I've owned previously. My only complaint is with the shipping. The shipping carton is designed to protect top and bottom corners of the dehumidifier, but offers no protection from impacts to sides. The shipping agent (not Amazon) used by the supplier is notorious for rough handling of items . The Cree dehumidifier arrived with a crack in the side of its thin plastic housing. I taped over it with duct tape to avoid the hassle of requesting an exchange. ... show more

    • Pulls a lot of moisture from the air!

Bought this unit for my parents old place in southern Alabama as I don’t spend a lot of time there besides upkeep and grass cutting. But I tried it at my home in Jacksonville Florida to see how well it works. Unit has a large container and it filled it within 4 hours of being turned on. Shut off automatically when it was full and restarted as soon as the bucket was reinstalled. Worked perfect for two weeks and then I shut it down and took io Alabama. Set it on the kitchen counter and installed a hose for continuous drainage and it worked perfect with no leakage from the hose attachment point. Left it running when I left and I’ll be checking on it tomorrow (2 weeks). I’ll update my findings then. At this point, the unit works as advertised but I was still shocked at how much water was pulled from my home. Very happy with the performance. Note: I purchased a smaller unit for my RV several months ago and it really makes a difference in there. I have it draining into my kitchen sink and it filled the 35 gallon grey tank in 4 months. We have another brand of dehumidifier at our home in our basement, but it didn't have a pumping mechanism like this one does. So we bought this for our camp basement so we could run a line to the drain. The basement is normally very dry (floor) but obviously humid during the summer months. Added to that is our stack of wood we brought in for burning this coming winter. This machine has been running tirelessly to bring down the humidity level of our basement. It appears to be doing a great job so far and the pumping mechanism seems to be operating fine. I do have a few items to note though: • the machine creates a good amount of heat and therefore has increased the temperature in our basement fairly dramatically. This also creates more work for itself since warm air is more of a challenge with humidity control. • the pumping feature does NOT keep the waste tank dry - it uses the waste tank as a sort of reservoir and essentially operates only enough to keep the tank from filling all the way. This results in stagnant water - so be sure to empty the tank itself every so often so you can at least dump old water instead of just letting it sit long term. • it could be the warm basement, or the stack of wood or just the summer months in Maine, but this unit seems to run far longer and much warmer than our primary residence.
