First off, wow. Let me just start by saying I almost didn't buy this because the price was a little steep for an odor absorber, but I was desperate and after reading the reviews I decided to go for it. When I say I was desperate, I mean I have tried every odor absorber I could get my hands on. I would even have multiples of them in the closet at a time. Due to lack of space, my cat's litter box is in the closet right next to my home office desk. It seemed like no matter how often I cleaned the box, sprayed, wiped, vacuumed, you name it, I could ALWAYS smell the box. I even changed litter brands multiple times. Nothing helped. I couldn't stand it. I even ran an air purifier in the room 24/7 and it didn't get rid of the stink. Opening the window was about the only thing that helped. Then I found this, threw my money down, and put it straight in the closet atop the litter box as soon as I got it. I know it says it's for a fridge but whatever. It WORKS. It took about a day but WOW. Actually it worked so well I promptly turned around bought another two days later. I also have the cat's food bowl in my room and I can smell it when it gets humid and it can sometimes get stuffy in my room so I'm putting the next one on my desktop to freshen up the air a bit. Let me just say that I am so impressed with this little powerhouse. The litter box doesn't hit me like a wall anymore whenever I open the closet door wide or sit next to it all day while at my desk. I got this to put into a refrigerator with a weird smell even though it had been thoroughly cleaned and after 5 days the smell is gone. I can't tell the filter has any scent but apparently does absorb odd odors. It's supposed to last 10 years and I've had it for 5 days so can't speak to how long it lasts. Also its a cool looking little silver metal thing that if someone sees it in your fridge they wouldn't know what it is but it looks great. ... show more

    • Best thing for vocs.
It really does eat them. Even for cigarette fumes. (Why I bought them. I don’t smoke, but I share air through the havoc with a neighbor that does. And Merv 16 filters that I tape over the vents don’t filter out the fumes. So yea) I bought one for every room. Made a Corsi Rosenthal box, shove one in side. Amazing effect! But also great for other vocs too, like from outside or just daily living. Place smells like nothing! It’s amazing, but for other things (smells that aren’t from vocs) you’ll still need baking soda. (Filled an old sock with a cup of it and put it on top the box filter. —bought something from a store that had mold. I threw it out, but had to use the baking soda sock for the lingering oder. Smell was gone by doing that, but these ‘voc eaters’ as I’ve come to call them, also helped a bit with the mold smell too. Just the fumes from it though.) Charcoal is awful. Hate it, pain to ‘refresh’ and is never as good as these. Trust me, bought bags of them and filters. This outclasses them all hands down! Never buying charcoal again!!! And yes, I also have one in my fridge. It helps to keep my bananas from over ripening too. Which is great! ... show more
