  • Hard to put together, but seems like a decent bike
Color: Yellow Size: 19"
The instructions that come with the bike are total garbage. It pretty much just tells you to take the bike to a shop, go slow, ask questions, use grease (I didn't), and use muscle (what?). There are no step by step instructions and no tools provided. I'm pretty handy and did eventually get it working well. Getting the handlebars, seat, front disk brakes, and front wheel "on" is pretty self explanatory, however pretty much nothing was lined up correctly (even stuff installed at the factory). If you don't have that front brake lined up perfectly, it sounds aweful when riding and it's pretty finicky about placement. I also had to adjust the back brake position. The derailleurs needed to be tuned (thanks internet) so that it would shift properly and quietly, but it's pretty quiet now. In the end, I still have an extra piece. It's a J-shaped piece of metal with some holes in it. There's already an identical piece like this installed on the back of the bike and it does not fit on the front. The bike seems to work fine without it, so maybe it's a random spare? It seems like a sturdy part that wouldn't likely ever break, so I'm not sure why a spare would be needed when they don't provide spares of anything else. Makes me worried something important is missing and the bike is going to fall apart on me, but it seems to work ok. (Edit: after some research, this part is called a derailleur hanger which is designed to be damaged in an accident to save other parts, hence the spare). Again, actual assembly instructions would be very helpful. A signature was required so USPS double-rang my doorbell and woke my toddler from his nap, which is annoying since this is a pretty cheap bike and I've had much more expensive things delivered with no signature required. I think my least favorite thing about the bike is that I don't see how you could ever attach a kick stand to it with the way the back is designed. So I'll have to lay it down or lean it against something. Overall, this seems like a good bike for the money. Putting it together was a pain, and honestly if I could rewind time, I would just spend a little more and go to a bike shop or even a sporting goods store to get a bike that's already put together and tuned properly. My 2 year-old kid was going nuts while I was putting it together and couldn't wait to go for a ride with dad, and kept trying to "help," which was cute, but...not actually helpful. I'd rather just have pulled a new bike out of my trunk, thrown his seat and handle bar attachments on and taken him for a ride. If you're on a budget, though, and don't mind tinkering and watching a YouTube video to compensate for the lack of provided instructions, and don't want a kick stand, this is a decent purchase. ... show more

  • The bike looks amazing
Color: Black Size: 17"
I really like the bicycle and although I know that it is not one of those that are expensive that are used professionally, to give a ride or do some crazy cross-country meets the objective very well. I have had problems adjusting the gears of the central part where the pedals are located, because the screws that regulate the limits of the chain are placed in a position where it is very difficult to perform this task. Possibly with some special tool you can do this easily, but with conventional tools it is quite complicated. I also can't find a bike mount in my vehicle. The frame of the bike is different from the others that maintain a conventional structure, this is because my bike has double suspension on both tires making it impossible to place it on the holders you find in the market for a sedan. I know, this would be different if I had an SUV or a truck, because in that case it is very easy to find other vehicle holder options for carrying the bike. For the rest and until now, I am very happy with my bike. ... show more

  • Depends what you are looking for
Color: White Size: 17"
So I’m impressed. Is it a mountain bike you can hit sick doubles on? Prob not, is it a mt bike you can ride intermediate trails and commute through the city with ease? Absolutely. Gravity is a factory brand bike out of tiawan one of the same factories brands like cannondale, diamondback and haro are manufactured. While with those brands they are shipped to an American distributor for final assembly, final assembly is putting on handle bars front tires and tuning. Out of the box you get a full bike 85-90% assembled. With a little mechanical know how you can complete this. The only issues I had was tuning the breaks and tightening everything down. Other than that this thing has been a beast. I think I may need to adjust the shocks a bit but it is an option so it’s doable. ... show more

  • Review changed ... chain broke. 21" Frame great for a 6'-6" 285 pound man.
Color: White Size: 21"
Below you see my original 5 star review. Unfortunately, the chain broke on my third ride. I am not sure about recommending this bike for a large man. It's just the chain, I should have had the derailer professionally adjusted maybe. I'll still give it 4 stars. I ordered this bike with apprehension, being a bit larger than the average bear. I'm 6'-6", so I thought I would take a chance. The parts are top quality for a bike this price(under $400), and the front/rear disk brakes AND front/rear suspension are unheard of at under $400, at least everywhere I looked. I got the box, and took the bike out of the box. I only had to attach the handlebars to the frame, attach the front wheel, and the pedals. I discovered I also had to attach a front brake line. Then I put the seat on and tightened it up. Easy enough to do everything with a 5mm hex wrench. Everything looked great! Then I got on the bike and took off. Pretty much a disaster. I'm glad I survived. I hadn't really ridden a mountain bike for several years, and forgot there's a little bit more work needed to do after the bike is "assembled". First thing, this bike is plenty big for me, and I realized I had the bike seat about 5 inches higher than I should have. That made things scary. I'm just used to having to put the seat high. Second thing, with my large frame I thought I was going to have to replace the front forks. Way too soft. I went and got myself a pliers first and tightened them up as tight as they would possibly go. It turns out they are perfect now!! No need for replacements. Third, air in the tires seems to be a necessary thing. I filled them from 3 psi up to 55 psi. They are working great. Fourth, the front disk brake caliper needed to be moved a bit to let the wheel spin freely, and both front and rear brakes needed to be tightened up a bunch! After these adjustments the bike works great for my 6'-6" body. No bike shop or replacements needed. I love this bike. Feel free to contact me for some help with any of the above mentioned adjustments. Maybe I could send you a pic or a video of how to do them. I would love to help if I can. davidjimm at netzero dot com ... show more
