I got these grab bars for showers to solve a laundry problem. I had previously bought an extra curtain rod to use for drying clothes over my bathtub, but the weight of the clothes pulled the rod down, again and again. These grab bars are an improvement because they can hold more weight. The clothes line attaches easily to the large handles. I especially like that the bars have an indicator for how well the suction is holding. That’s a great feature. I’m not sure about how useful the glow in the dark feature is (my bathroom does not have a lot of natural light), but it might be useful for others. These suction bars need to be attached to a smooth surface and they’re larger than the common four inch bathroom size tiles, so keep that in mind before ordering. I love that they’re portable, too, so I can move them as needed. They’re useful when a friend with some medical issues that cause dizziness comes to visit. And they might make a good harness tie off for anyone brave enough to give the cat a bath… Overall, I’m impressed and highly recommended these portable grab bars. ... show more

These grab bars are really secure for what they are. I have a set of grab bars that are very similar to these and they work very well. I got this set for another bathroom because safety first. These attach to the wall of the bathroom very well. They are probably as close to drilling holes into the wall as you can get. They are easy to setup. Just pick a spot and push it against it and start pressing the button. Once the red line disappears, you’re all set. To release the suction, simply pull the small tab at the bottom and lift. This button press design is much better than the other competitors that require you to pull and press to engage and disengage the suction cups. People who have issues with their hands can easily put up and remove these without much issue. These are well worth the money. ... show more

I'm not easily impressed, but these round style temporary grab bars have made me a believer. The round, compact shape combined with a large surface suction cup makes these grab bars very stable. They do require a flat surface for (temporary) installation but on the correct surface, the suction adhesion is amazing. This style of grab bar installs with only placement against the flat surface, then several pumps of the button on top until the red indicator line is no longer visible. A black rubber type tab at the device bottom only needs a gentle pull to release the suction and remove the bar. This particular bar type has a (somewhat) glow-in-the-dark handle. I think this feature works better in areas with lots of natural light, which my bath doesn't have in abundance. Also, these suction style grab bars do seem to lose some suction power over time, but the red line visual indicator safety feature lets the user know if the top button needs a few more pumps to ensure wall adherence of the device. ... show more

I have stability issues getting in and out of the shower. I have tried a few other assistive devices with no luck. I was pretty excited with this grab bar because you can tell how much suction is left. So, I went ahead and set it on the bath surround and pumped the button until the button was all the way down. I tested the grip and suction - WOW - that was on there good!!! Awesome! I just went about things as normal. I had taken a shower about an hour or two before putting this up, so I didn't need another one until the day after next. However, the day after I put it up, I noticed the suction line had started to rise (meaning it was losing suction). I just pressed the button maybe two times to get it back to normal. I can't remember if it was the next morning or night, but I was in bed sleeping and heard a HUGE crash. My dogs went on high alert. I thought there had to be someone in the house to make that type of noise. No one was in the house. The weight of the grip, the echo of the tub, it was super loud when it FELL OFF the wall. I couldn't believe it lost suction so quickly. I also couldn't believe the thunk it made. The one thing I was glad for is that I wasn't trying to use it at the time. I would feel horrible for an elderly person who had someone else put it up, and they were left to use it on their own. It's a great concept, but it didn't work properly. The item itself is bulky and heavy, too. I will give it some points for having an awesome suction right off the bat. Maybe I just got the defective box? That could be a good possibility, as well as accounting for user error such as not washing the wall well enough first. ... show more

It suctions pretty well onto a clear wall or surface. It is very easy to install but I won’t be able to use it in my shower since I have square tile and it won’t suction due to the lines in it .

These grab bars are definitely sturdy and have the best suction to my shower out of any that I have ever used. It will definitely hold your weight if you need to lean on it. The red line is nice, so you know for sure that’s it stuck on. So many of these bars’ suction gives out over time, and you never know when it’s going to go, which could lead to falls if you don’t give the bar a little test first. With these two, you can trust that it’s stuck. They aren’t perhaps real pretty, but they accomplish their purpose very well. It’s also nice that they don’t take up much space while still having plenty of room to hold. Your hand can still slide on those other longer bars unlike these. I like that they can be placed horizontally or vertically or at any angle or combo of the two you want. You can find them cheaper but there are two of them, so I feel like they are a good deal for a quality product. ... show more

These are much better than the usual bars, as they can be placed in any direction. I placed one in each shower and they have not lost suction yet.
