    • Good quality vinyl and great adhesion
I bought this to cover part of a reclining chair. The vinyl had cracked and was peeling away from the backing in large patches in that strip across the front between the butt and the foot rest. Sure, the color is a bit off, but I expected that. The patch itself is as thick and heavy as the original chair material. It feels soft and leathery (as opposed to stiff like plastic.) After cleaning the area I wanted to cover with glass cleaner, I peeled the 8" x 28" strip I had created and began applying it. You will probably be able to remove and reposition small areas that accidently touch the piece you are repairing, but once you press the adhesive down firmly it will be much less likely to come off cleanly. My only boo-boo was not cleaning off a couple of back corners of the patch itself where I cut and overlapped the repair. The patch material still has some release agent on it, so the adhesive doesn't stick to it's own vinyl nearly as well. Luckily a quick clean of those areas seems to have done the trick even after my initial mistake. My only caveat is that the backing paper clearly indicates that this is 3M brand, while none of the product literature or packaging does. Pretty sure this is intended to be a knock-off item, but it also seems to be a pretty good one! ... show more

We are trying to make out boat's seat upholstery last until we can afford to have it all replaced. This has helped the seems on our seats hold together. The fabric has worked well in doing its job. It is important to remember to clean very well all sections you want to adhere this material to. It will separate if not cleaned. It is easy to use, great value for the money. It is thick and comes in a great large size to cover the area we needed. I would use this again, and can now not worry about the seats when we store it for the season. This worked great on our lawnmower seat which was really tore uo. We also put a piece in my Tahoe where I rest my elbow/arm while driving. Before putting this on there, I would put my elbow down and the leather would poke my elbow. It had been split apart due to wear and tear through the years. This product is of a high quality. It looks good and is easy to apply on smooth flat or curved surfaces. Tucked or crimped corners could be a problem. Color matching could also be a problem. I used it on the arm of a cream colored leather couch. The textured surface looks good and the color match is close but not perfect. I was not able to cover all the way to the end of the damaged armrest. Overall I am very pleased with the result of using this product. It effectively covers the damaged armrest in a way that is far more acceptable than looking at the previously damaged armrest. ... show more
