I got this to hold snowboards and skis and it does that great so far. Locks works held everything up and back no trouble. Because it’s universal it takes a little more fitting to get it right on the rails but it’s solid.

Not as well built as other ski racks we've used, but it's good enough to get us up the mountain with our gear secure, and it's about as inexpensive as you can get for this type of rack. Locks are a little cheap feeling and don't operate super smoothly, but it's doable.

Bought this ski rack for my son to use on an out-of-state ski trip. The rack installed easily on my Subaru Outback. The rack seems to have good build quality and will accommodate 6 pairs of skis. My son & his buddies mounted 4 pairs of skis for their trip and had room to spare. The arms lick down tight and secure. Skis now live on the rack for the ski season. ... show more

While it seems to lock skis ok I decided the bolts that clamp it to the cross bar needs lock washers. Little did I realize I would literally lose the Allen head screws that hold the clamp to the actual ski mount itself. These it seems need lock washers or locking nuts as well. If you do buy this. Expect to modify. From other reviews rusting components I was warned about. Who would have thought the actual bolts would fall off before they had a chance to rust. Smh. Disappointed.
