Best nonstick, college-kid tested, I bought 2 sets

I don't like nonstick pans because they don't last very long before the surface is all "stick," and I never trust the chemicals they might put into your food. But some things are hard to cook on my trusty stainless steel pans without gobs of oil. So I've been looking for semi-trusty nonstick fry pans for years. Most have failed me until I was gifted one of these pans, which cleans up like a dream and almost never requires oil. When I wanted another size of the same pan, I bought 3 different knockoff brands of "copper"-- each lasted for a couple of months before warping and beginning to stick. So I bought this set for my 20yo son's college apartment. He's an inexperienced cook, so I wanted him to have nonstick, and he requested "lids that fit," unlike my menagerie of pans. After 6 months, he says the set still works great. And I was due for an upgrade on several of mine, so I bought another set during a sale. These are even better than the first Gotham pan from years ago. They have heavy bottoms so they sit flat and cook evenly on my glass-top electric stove. The variety of sizes of pots and pans are perfect for my needs, and there's even a deep saucepan. The glass lids fit tightly and are interchangeable from pot to pan, so you don't have to juggle too many lids. And there's no chemical taste or smell like many nonstick pans emit. I haven't had them long, so I can't vouch for the "scratch resistant" aspect. But I did note that the item description says you can use metal utensils, but the paperwork that comes with the set says not to use sharp objects, so I'm afraid to use a metal spoon or spatula. Overall, for the price and versatility alone, these pans are worth owning. But the quality so far surpasses my expectations. If they start giving out in the next few months, I'll update.

Best $200 investment!

I needed a set of pots and pans that were non stick and after doing much research I decided to invest in Gotham Steel hard anodized. My friend had one from Costco and loves it so I found the full set and purchased them on Amazon. Although they aren’t cheap at $200, I get cook a lot and wanted to make the investment and I am so glad I did! After using them for 6 weeks and putting them through a lot of use and cleaning, I think they may be the best pots and pans I’ve ever owned. I have a set of All Clad and it was beginning to get old soaking the pans and/or pots to wash them so that is why I searched and found this set. The hard anodized material of the pans give them some weight and really do spread the heat evenly as advertised. My favorite part, however is the nonstick aspect. I’ve used the fry pans consistently every day and nothing sticks! Ditto for the pots. People who have described this pan in reviews as nonstick and complained, probably haven’t read or listened to the instructions. The instructions that come with the pans instruct that you need to use them on low to medium heat, which I have done and found no issue at all. And cleanup is a breeze, you can throw these right in the dishwasher and they come out ready for use. I also used metal utensils on the fry pans a few times and haven’t seen any scratches or wear on the surface of the pan. In terms of what actually comes with the set, I’ve found it covers nearly every standard use pot and pan with the sauté pan and regular skillet being my favorites. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for and willing to invest in a great cookware set.

Sturdy, Stylish, and a Dream to Cook With!

I've been using the Gotham Steel Pro 13-Piece Ceramic Pots and Pans Set for a while now, and I have to say—it’s an amazing set! First off, the sturdiness is impressive. Great product!

This is my first time using this brand of cookware. I was gifted a small fry pan because I was having major issues with the $2,000 “Lifetime” cookware set I had-couldn’t make eggs, or anything else for that matter, without it turning into a disaster. Not to mention, that cook set was a nightmare to clean. After using the fry pan I was gifted, I was sold. I bought this set and threw my overpriced cookware in the trash. I have very pleased with this new cook set, how the pans heat up and heat evenly, nothing sticks and they’re a breeze to clean. I am only giving it a 4-star review because after using the larger fry pan for the first time, using the recommended heat setting, the pan seemed to warp and no longer sits flat on my electric stove. Other than that, I have been very impressed with this cook set.

Best Pots I've ever Owned

I bought the whole set plus an extra frying pan I love this so much. Excellent quality. They are a good weight. Cook evenly and have nice lids. I cant say enough about how happy I am with this purchase. I do a lot of cooking and this is the only set I will be using from now on. Easy to wash. They are not the type where an egg will glide right off but I haven't had any trouble with sticking. It's a nice surface and the set looks good in my kitchen display.

1-2 star based on expectations vs reality

I had some truly awful pans before these. Miserable pans that stuck no matter what you sprayed or put on the before cooking. I was so excited to get a great deal on these. Maybe $150 ish. And replace my whole set of older pans that I hated cooking with. That was October 13th. I still prefer these to the old pans than were nearly 20 years old, but these are only mildly less infuriating. That egg slide thing they always show off hasn't worked since December. I've taken great care of these things. I've never used nonstick spray and use soap and water right after cooking and I have to say I hate making eggs on these now. It's almost like it cooks a film to the pans so eggs crack all the time and you can't get them up. I thought "Well they advertise you can use any metal on them without issue, maybe I need to use a better spatula." And now they are scratched. First time using metal on them. Scratched. The "support" page on Amazon links you to a purchasing page. I signed up on Gotham's website to try and do a warranty claim and no verification email or text ever came through. I think I'll end up calling but I'm afraid there isn't support and the warranty is a sham. I have treated these better than I've treated any kitchen utensil I have ever owned because I wanted them to last for a long time. I've not got an expensive set of pans I hate waking up to cook on. If I get no support for these I'm planning on cleaning them and selling them locally for a fraction of the cost and buying something else. I didn't know Gotham was big in the "as seen on tv" community before this but if you take anything away from this review then make it: Do not buy these pans. You will really enjoy the first month or so and then you'll realize they are garbage and there is no way to get in touch to complain.
