I have to admit - I'm well into my 30's and have never owned a high quality flashlight. To this day, I still haven't! My son has had a few flash lights purchased from the local dollar store, and everyone one of them has been made out of cheap plastic that cracks when you look at it! Horrible quality. He received an Amazon gift card, so we decided to look for a "nice" flash light. This one did NOT disappoint! I find myself searching for his new flashlight often, and the quality has conviced me that spending a few extra dollars makes all the difference. It will last for several years! You can't have too many compact aluminum flashlights - I keep telling myself that since I have so many. So I added a turquoise Gorilla to my collection. This is a nice solid little light. It's got a good zoom and decent light power. It's not too small so you can get a grip on it. It has the usual features of recessed back button switch - and a wrist lanyard. You can stand it up on its "bottom" to cast an overhead light. The three AAA battery insert is typical of the new format (with pin at the positive end) so you can actually get a replacement (or plenty on Amazon) if you need one. The Cree light should last longer than I do, and it doesn't consume much juice or generate excess heat. This is a solid little tool, and the color choices are a clever marketing choice by Gorilla - who strike me as being good at that sort of thing. I anticipate some female wanting to steal this nice looking light from me - I will tell her to get her own (or I will have to get another one for her and maybe more for her friends)! I like this flashlight. If you are new to such devices - get at least two. They are life savers in an emergency and you can use them in self defense in a pinch. They also make great gifts - and children should also carry them whenever they travel at night. Start them young with good habits - like seeing where you are going and knowing how to get out of places in the dark. Easy to use, and better than a cell phone light. I got a deal on mine.
