This coffee maker was inexpensive, yet makes great coffee! I love that the temperature isn't extremely hot, like some, which makes the coffee less bitter, even when it sits for a long time in the burner. In the past I've always turned the burner off after brewing, to avoid the bitterness and burned taste, but with this coffee maker I don't have to. The only thing that I wish is that it would shut off itself. I knew to shut it off after, yet I still forgot one day. Nothing happened, but I was aghast. I now turned it a little on the counter, so that the light is visible to me, instead of forgotten, which definitely helps. I would still buy it again, in a heartbeat! Coffee is too expensive to not have a great coffee maker, and this is it! ... show more

The reason I chose this coffee maker — and why I gave it a high rating like many other reviewers — is because it’s no frills and easy to use. We previously had an expensive, name-brand coffee maker with all the bells and whistles. I’ve come to believe that the more features a machine has, the more things there are that can go wrong. Even though I cleaned it regularly, it eventually started sounding like the Fourth of July every time it ran — snap, crackle, pop, fizz. Half the time it would wake my roommate up, and he’d get up to turn it off before the coffee was even finished brewing. This time, I just wanted something simple, with less internal tubing to clog up. Just add water and coffee, flip the switch, and you’re good to go. Best of all, it’s QUIET compared to my previous machine. Some reviews mention that it doesn’t have a pause feature, but that hasn’t been my experience. The coffee stops dripping when you lift the pot to pour a cup. My only real concern is that it doesn’t have an automatic shut-off. You do have to remember to turn it off when you’re done, or it will keep warming the pot. We may start setting a timer as a reminder. ... show more

Rather unhappy. It makes great coffee! The problem is: Coffee grounds pop out of the coffee filter, grounds get in the coffee. No matter how I try, the grounds still get loose. I love the coffee maker but dislike the error on design that Gourmia has. It needs some re-design work. I hope they are working on that. ... show more
