I put two of these into 6ft tall display cabinets, and one in a closet. - In the display cabinets, the magnets in the lights stuck directly to the underside of the steel tops of the cabinets, which made installation absolutely trivial. The cabinets are about 30 inches wide and 12 inches deep, with glass shelves, and they are lit up very attractively with these lights. - My display cabinets have glass doors and glass sides, but the lights only come on when you open the doors, not when you just walk by the cabinets: this is perfect for me. I'm guessing this means the motion-detecting signal doesn't transmit through glass, but that's just a guess. - In the closet, just one of these is a little dim. The door is 8ft tall, and the lowest I could put it was a little above the door, and the closet is not small, around 3.5ft wide and 2.5 ft deep, with of course a lot of stuff in it, so just one of these is better than nothing but it doesn't fill the closet with light. Two would probably do a good job, but I'm not going to purchase another 3-pack just to get one more. Installation in the closet was pretty easy as well, turns out there are two magnets in the light so I just attached two steel right-angle brackets directly above the door (in the correct positions for the magnets) then just stuck the light on the brackets. - In both cases, the motion sensors detect the movement of the doors, so the lights come on when I open the doors just like I wanted. They stay on for maybe 30 seconds after motion ceases (after the door closes). - Charging is micro USB: pull a light down, plug it in, a red light comes on to show it's charging but not charged up, when charging is complete the light turns green. Doesn't get any simpler. - The light does not operate while charging, so you can't install these with an always-connected charger, you must let them run on battery and charge when needed. ... show more

Reviewed on 2/2/2023: I bought these in Sept. of 2021 to use in my old house that has no lights in the closets or kitchen pantry. They work so well, especially considering their size! The motion sensor is great and it's nice to finally be able to easily see what's in my pantry and closets. The magnetic strip is a great feature too - it holds the light well yet makes it easy to pop the light off for recharging. (don't lose the little charger cord - other cords won't work, at least the one I tried didn't.) Two tips: 1. Since they are in my pantry and closets in the motion sensor mode, they aren't in heavy use so they require less frequent charging - maybe every 3ish weeks. I don't know how frequently you'd need to recharge if you use them as undercabinet lights in a busy kitchen. I guess if you stuck with the on/off function instead of motion you'd get longer times between recharges. 2. If you're using them in a pantry or closet like I am, put the light on the *side wall* about 5' - 5.5' from the floor. This spreads the light MUCH better than putting it above so it shines down. Move it around before committing to the perfect spot, then stick the magnet on the wall. One of the lights stopped charging in January 2023. I contacted the seller and they sent me a replacement since I was within the 24 month warranty period. That kind of guarantee/warranty is unheard of nowadays! They do ask for a video to show the problem which was a challenge until I figured out how to upload it and share a link rather than trying to sent a 50mb video via email.     • Affordable lighting that lasts

Three years ago I installed a couple three packs of these LED lights around my kitchen. They’re all still running fine without issues. I also installed a two-pack of the larger version and had problems with both. One never fully charges although it does work and one has never been very bright and lacked enough magnetism to hang upside down. Overall, these are a great choice for simple lighting purposes. Brightness is good. Could they be brighter? Yes, but you would likely need to recharge them more often. After three years, they take an average of 4-6 hours to fully charge. For comparison, the under cabinet installation needs recharging about every other week for the ones that are triggered most frequently. I put three in a furnace closet that’s also a small storage area. These are charged probably every six months. ... show more

I have several areas in my garage that the overhead lighting just doesn’t cover it. I added 2 of these rechargeable strips in the remote spots and they work perfectly! They come on when you approach and stay on as long as you remain. Then when you leave they go out in about 20 seconds. The most useful one is at the back door into the house from the garage. When you walk up to that door the door opener light doesn’t quite cut it but the strip light turns on and completely illuminates the door. Easy key entry and when I go out to toss recycle into the bins I don’t even have to turn on the overhead lights. WIN-WIN! ... show more

These work great! Motion detection is wonderful and they shed a lot of light. Being able to change the color temp is great too. The only problem is they need charging every two or three days if installed in a high traffic area. I have them under some kitchen cabinets where no other lights will fit and while they work great, they need constant charging because they come on every time you walk by. Quite an improvement over another brand wireless light set that was ordered. A brighter light; however not quite as much as desired, it may just be the nature of wireless lights. Very easy to install, very responsive and appropriate motion sensor, and will buy more of this brand light sets.
