  • Decent cheap lightweight chicken coop
Size: A
Pros: I have had this coop for about 6 months and it is holding up fine so far. I have 4 chickens living in it, which seems to be a comfortable maximum as long as you are giving them free range outside the coop in the daytime, as we are. It is pretty easy to clean - it just takes 5 minutes, once or twice a week. It looks good in the backyard and is quite functional. While I don't know if any predators have tried to get in yet (we have plenty of foxes, bobcats, coyotes, racoons, etc in our area), I am pretty confident that this coop, when fully closed up at night with the chicken inside, would keep anything other than a black bear out. Cons: it was a nightmare to assemble. The instructions are TERRIBLE. It took 6 to 8 hours in total, with multiple trips to the hardware store to buy additional fasteners that weren't included in the kit. If you look at my photos, you can see that I had to use additional (not included) L-brackets to support the interior tray (which is otherwise great for easy cleaning, btw). I also used many of those L-brackets inside the coop to stiffen the connections between the walls. I think it would fall apart in months without the additional stiffeners. Every time you move it in your backyard, you take months off of its lifespan. Oh, I also had to buy a small caribiner to fasten the nesting box and a hook & eye closure to fasten the front door (which you never use anyway). You can see all of these in the photos. Oh - watch out for the connection between the ramp and the coop house. Once you have fully assembled the product, the first time you lift it up to move it, the ramp will snap off. But it's not the end of the world - you just prop it back up in the same place without any fixed connection and it works fine. The chickens walk up and down it without knocking it off. All that said, we are 6 months in and its still holding up ok, albeit with some extra wire and duct tape here and there to keep it together. Overall, I am fully satisfied (although if you had asked me midway through assembly, I would have cursed its manufacturer with many unprintable words). I think this coop will last one to two years, at which point we will probably replace it with a much sturdier and more permanent structure. But as an introduction to keeping backyard chickens, this was the perfect product. Just be ready to buy some extra fasteners :-) ... show more

  • Small
Size: A
It would work for 2 big hens or 4 small ones. Using it for 6 chicks right now but I'll have to get a bigger one. Built an extra run space to attach to it so they have more outdoor room for now

  • Hard to access animals
Size: A
The instructions got confusing at the end. You can only access the animals through the top, so i had to switch a couple pieces to make it easy for them to get out.

  • I would say this is a 2 bird coop.
Size: A
Pretty nice coop. Roof cap not water proof. Instructions leave a lil to be desired for assembly. If you have a lil bit of carpenter skills you can figure it out.

  • You Get What You Pay For
Size: A
So there’s a few things to discuss... there’s barely any videos on how to properly put it together. It took a LONG time to assemble. It’s cheaply made, wood splits if you’re not careful. The instructions were horribly explained and some of the pieces weren’t displayed correctly. The pilot holes are okay for the most part but the roof was not in line with the frame so I had to make my own pilot holes. I am raising my chickens inside for the time being as they’ll have an A-Frame for outside time during the day for spring, summer and fall. If you were to purchase this coop for outside use only, I almost 100% guarantee this coop will NOT protect your chickens. Also this is good for only 2 chickens MAX! At the end of the day it’s a good “home” for them but you’ll want to set up a chain link cage or something around this so they can wander around outside and stay protected against predators. That’s most likely what I’ll do. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. I could recommend this as a good rabbit hutch too. You could get better use out of this as an indoor hutch than a chicken coop to be completely honest. ... show more

  • It Works
Size: A
I ordered this chicken coop for the intended purpose of using it for my rabbits base. I figured a coop meant for chickens would be plenty big for my rabbit. Putting it together took probably an hour and a half. It wasn’t hard by any means to figure it out while watching the video and referring to the instructions. There was plenty of screws. The only downside I would say it a couple of wood pieces were warped and out of shape. But once it was screwed into place with my screw gun, it straightened out for the most part. This thing is not sturdy and if there was a stronger animal than a rabbit wanting to get out or in, it might not hold up. However for me using it for rabbit it works great. I decided to paint the roof white for aesthetic purposes. Over all I am quite pleased with the coop. Hope my review helps others. ... show more
