  • You need two ppl
Was unsure of the safety of this equipment at first but it turned out to be good. It provides an excellent workout without bothering my knees. You need two ppl to put it together ( I did it alone. I’m previous merchandiser. Believe me when I say, “YOU NEED TWO PPL”. It’s worth the buy.

  • A much cheaper Concept2 but with some annoyances
This is functionally just a Concept 2 for cheap. I cannot tell the mechanical difference between them after comparing to someone else's Concept 2. This version is like half the price of the Concept 2 though so definitely worth it. However, three major bad things. 1) The digital display. It doesn't do anything. There are various metrics on it but they are all invalid because they're based on row distance which every pull - regardless of how much force - will always register as 6 meters. The app is useless for this. It does not sync to the machine or anything like that. There is no way to realistically get metrics on your rowing with this machine. 2) The straps for your feet are garbage. I just took them off and replaced with velcro. Which has been much more stable. Maybe it's because I didn't assemble the straps correctly? But if so then I blame: 3) The awful assembly instructions. Honestly just dangerous. I pinched my finger so bad trying to put this together, and got some other cuts and bruises too. The instructions are picture only with no written help. Only one perspective per step, hard to tell what the hell they're telling you to do. One of the final steps connecting the fly-wheel to the part you roll on is so poorly communicated by the instructions and the only thing I could guess to do was dropping the pieces into place which did work eventually but was really dangerous. There's also a some steps that clearly seem to depict a different machine?? Still a piece a didn't assemble to this day because the instructions made no logical sense. Also 4) the holder for your phone is not stable enough for an ipad and not big enough to hold my phone case. These are really damning negatives, but the Concept 2 is like $1,000. I am willing to recommend this rower if you want the workout that the Concept 2 can provide but want to save $600. ... show more

  • Worst purchase I've ever made
This rower is a piece of crap. l have a mechanical background and rowed in college. Took me 2 days to assemble. Instructions were terrible. Cut my hands on the cheap stainless steel covering of the rail. Concept rail is polished stainless. No cheep covering. Couldn't attach the rail to flywheel section. Pulley was misaligned for bungee. There is no fix for this unless they send a tech out. I'll see if that happens. No way it can be sent back. What a mess. Sorry I bought it. Should have spent the $$ on a Concept. This thing. This thing is no concept 2. ... show more

  • Mechanically solid but electronics are a sham
The media could not be loaded. Mechanically this is a pretty solid rower. It mimics the mechanics of a concept rower pretty well for a fraction of the cost. However the electrical system is a sham. It just says you rowed 6 meters no matter how hard or soft you row (see video). Bluetooth feature also does not work - it just turns off the display and puts up the Bluetooth symbol but there no way to pair with anything. Overall there is no way to track your progress. Would have been five stars if the display actually did as advertised. Probably won return since I just want a workout and not measuring progress too aggressively but serious athletes should be warned. ... show more

  • Superb Customer Service. Perfect.
Phenomenal customer service. Messaged about half a dozen times, and received a response in less than 24 hours each time. Support was perfect. Easy 5 stars. The unit is a very good buy given current pricing. Recommended.

  • "CrossFit Junkie Turned Home Rower "
As a CrossFit coach, I’ve rowed on Concept2 machines for years. The GMWD LAVA FLOW is shockingly similar—same smooth pull, sturdy build, and even the chain feels identical! The orange/black colorway looks sharp in my garage gym.

  • Tech Lover’s Dream
Bluetooth + Fit Show app = I stream Netflix while rowing, and the app auto-logs my metrics.Only downside? The PM doesn’t show split times permanently—it cycles screens.
