The Globe Electric Architect 32" Multi-Joint Desk Lamp with Metal Clamp is an ideal option for any desk lighting. The upper spring-loaded swing arm is easily adjustable to direct light wherever you need it the most while the metal clamp is perfect to mount on study tables, workstations or home office desks. The bottom half of the body is nonadjustable and is beautifully designed with a decorative spring. The six-foot cord allows you the ability to place the light anywhere you want regardless of where your wall socket is located, while the on/off switch is conveniently located at the top of the lamp for quick and easy use. This light fixture requires one 60W max E26 base Edison bulb (sold separately).

It's a decent lamp, provided you get a good light bulb. Screws to table or desk securely enough, however there are certain angles it will not stay in due to there being no screw where the swinging arm attaches to the base at the desk/table to secure it and keep it from swinging from side to side. May look into getting a replacement with more firm positioning options for the arm and therefore the light. ... show more

This gooseneck lamp works very well for my intended purpose, which is added light for fly tying. You would be nuts to purchase this lamp with the bulb for over double the cost of the lamp without a bulb. A package of four LED E26 Daylight 5000K non-dimmable bulbs costs $10 locally (at Ace Hardware) and these bulbs provide fantastic bright light. The design of this lamp is 5 stars. It looks like you’d find it as a fixture somewhere in a luxury apartment or hotel. The lamp has a surprisingly small footprint and was very simple to assemble. The frame is a very sturdy metal material. The c clamp is a very sturdy lightweight metal (updated incorrectly stated as plastic). You can rotate the the frame of the lamp at its base as well as the lamp head which has 2 axis of rotation. I’m using D50 5000K A19 lightbulbs and the lighting with the lamp is complimentary. I picked up two of these so my wife and I could have more direct light in our miniature painting area. They're great for the price, are easy to adjust and come with a good quality clamp. They barely fit the oversize bulbs we're supposed to use for "true color" visibility, so I'm sure they'll fit whatever you need to put in them too. ... show more

Update: I found that if I continued to turn the switch on/off, it began to work and has continued to do so. The mfr seems to have fixed what many one-star reviewers complained of (almost all were years old): exs: plastic clamp, it is now metal; won't stay in place, there are now four springs. I'd have given it 5 stars, but I will wait to see if the switch problem returns. The headline says it all, unpacked it, assembled it, put in bulb--didn't light. Tried two more bulbs, checked socket (it was OK). Returning for a finger-crossed exchange. Wonder if there's any quality control. Probably not. ... show more
