Bike rack comes in 3 pieces and flexes at all connection points. Piping wall is not very thick, and I expect it to break or bend soon since it is in a public area.

    • One major flaw
This bike rack has one major flaw. It arrives in three pieces: the 'wave' part and two feet. This is done to keep shipping prices down, but unfortunately makes the rack is relatively weak. The feet screw to the wave with a bolt that will snap off if someone leans on the rack. If you want it to hold up to use in a public place, you will need to have the feet welded to the main piece after you receive it. That being said, once you weld the rack, it will be plenty strong. I have installed about 20 of these racks around Atlanta, and once I figured out the welding issue, they have been holding up well. The finish will fade some in the sun, but not too much. This shape of rack is one of the best for urban use. It provides a way to lock the frame of the bicycle, not just the wheel. You can get the same shape rack from other companies, but they'll probably be more expensive. If you need a small number of affordable bike racks, this might be a good choice. Plan to visit a local welding shop to have a couple simple welds made that are necessary to make the rack strong. ... show more
