I’ve been keeping aquariums for as long as I can remember. It’s been a lifelong passion. In my spare time, I enjoy testing and reviewing fish tank products for Amazon. I recently decided that I wanted to get a small aquarium for my countertop to keep shrimp. When Amazon offered to send me this 1.5 gallon complete set up, I knew I wanted to check it out. I’m glad that I did. The item arrived well packaged, and in good condition. It came complete with a filter and an overhead light. The light has several spectra and levels to choose from. It plugs into a USB adapter. The filter features a skimmer, as well as flow adjustment. At maximum flow, it’s a bit too powerful for a tank of this size. However, on the lowest flow setting, it works quite nicely. As you can see from my photo, I’m still in the process of cycling the tank; however, it will nicely accommodate a few small shrimp. It might be a little too small for a betta, especially if you plan on adding any types of ornaments to the tank. That said, I planted it with some medium/low light aquatic plants that I think will do nicely. The noise level is not a problem. The whole set up was easy to assemble. The filtration quality is strong. The tank has a sleek look to it. And of course, there were no leaks. I opted not to use the lid, but one was included. It’s a good size for a countertop. As far as value, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better aquarium set up in this price range.

Set up this iPriro 1.5-gallon ultra white glass aquarium as a small desktop display, and it makes an excellent visual piece. It’s clearly designed for compact spaces, and the clarity of the glass and included equipment make it a solid starter kit overall. Ease of Assembly: 5/5 Assembly was very straightforward. The filter, light, and tank are all simple to set up, and everything fits together without confusion. It only took a few minutes to get everything operational. Looks: 5/5 This is where the tank really stands out. The ultra white glass is exceptionally clear and gives a very clean, high-end appearance. It looks great on a desk or shelf and works well as a decorative piece. Value for Money: 4/5 The value is good, but not perfect. The tank itself is small, and the LED light is manually controlled rather than automated. That said, you are paying for the clarity of the glass and the included filtration system, which helps justify the price. Quality: 4/5 The glass feels solid at 4mm thick, and the tank itself feels well-constructed. The included components are good quality overall, though not premium-tier. Everything functions properly and feels reliable. Tank Size: 3/5 The dimensions are exactly as advertised, but 1.5 gallons is very small in general. It works well for decorative setups, shrimp, or other nano applications, but it’s important to understand the limitations that come with a tank this size. Filter Quality: 4/5 The included power filter works well and provides proper water movement for a tank of this size. It’s appropriately sized and runs reliably, though like most included kit filters, it’s more functional than high-end. This is my first ever aquascape with live plants, so I wanted something small, simple, and not wildly expensive in case I made beginner mistakes. So far, this tank has been a really good starting point. First things first, it doesn’t leak. The glass is clear and looks nice once filled, and the 4mm thickness feels sturdy for a small 1.5-gallon setup. It actually looks clean and modern on a desk, which matters when it’s living in your space. The LED light works well and has multiple settings, which I appreciate. The only thing I wish it had is a built-in timer. I tried plugging it into a smart outlet, but because you have to physically press the button to turn it on, that workaround doesn’t really help. Not a deal breaker, but if you’re growing live plants or have fish with specific light cycles, that’s something to think about. The filter works, but it does feel a little on the budget side. It’s fine for now, especially for a small planted tank, but I’m not fully convinced it’s a long-term piece of equipment. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the first thing I upgrade down the road. Overall though, for the price, this feels like an incredible value. You’re getting a clean-looking glass tank, functional lighting, and a working filter without spending a fortune. For a first planted setup, I’m really happy with it — and I’m genuinely excited to watch the plants grow in.

This is a really nice little tank, but it’s important to note that it is absolutely not large enough for fish. I plan to use mine for nano Caridina shrimp once it finishes cycling (about 4–8 weeks). I’ll also be removing the large potted plant and moving it into a bigger setup. The rimless design is beautiful and gives the tank a very clean, modern look. I appreciate the built-in base pad, which adds a bit of extra protection for the glass. The included filter is slightly louder than I’d prefer, but it’s still acceptable for such a small kit. The light is more than adequate for a tank of this size, and I really like the clear lid, it does a great job of keeping curious cat paws out. Overall, this is a great little kit for anyone wanting a small planted tank for shrimp or snails. If you’re thinking about keeping a betta, I’d recommend picking up a 5-gallon kit from a big blue box store instead. They’re often about the same price and actually provide enough space for a betta to thrive.
