𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Amazing. Well-built. Less offensively priced than much of the competition. Not loud, and despite a bit of coil whine during certain loading screens, it hasn't been noticeable while playing. As someone who wanted to avoid coil whine and bought this card for that reason, I'm fine with it. It's a real, solid 4090 for not much above MSRP, with performance and silent BIOS modes. -------------------------------------------------- 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I'm currently running this in my nearly 4-year old build, with the intention of upgrading everything else around the card after a year or so of saving. Even on an i9 9900k, it offers massive gains over my 2080 ti in any scenario where I'm not limited by my CPU or 3200mhz ram speed. For example, Hogwarts Legacy doesn't see too much improvement (it's notoriously taxing on your whole system and not the most optimized), but Horizon Zero Dawn at native 1440p Ultra went from 90fps on an RTX 2080 ti to 155fps (monitor cap) on the 4090. It's still only around 75% GPU usage, 63C and drawing roughly the same power as my 2080 ti at around 250W. That's over a 70% uplift for 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, a dozen degrees cooler, and a lot quieter due to much lower fan speed. Aside from obviously flourishing at 4k, this card could do a lot more than that at 1440p with a cutting-edge CPU, RAM and a 240hz monitor. It is a BEAST, and with 24GB of VRAM it may actually stay powerful for a few years. Still, let's be real; the 4090 is overpriced and I can't give it good marks for value even though Gigabyte is being really cool here compared to the competition. I stand strong in my belief that the whole pricing structure of the 40-series is one tier too high; the FE should retail around $1249-$1299, which would put this one around $1349-$1399. Still, this isn't Gigabyte's fault, it's Nvidia all the way, and I appreciate Gigabyte offering this for a comparatively "reasonable" price. If you decided (like I did) that the 4090 is the only card that makes sense to buy for longevity's sake—or you simply want the best—this is a great option.

My GPU arrived dented and damaged. I looked closely, and the factory seal sticker on one of the screws had been tampered with. The GPU would not post on my PC. I tried every measure, and it would not work. I placed my old RTX 3090 into the PCIe slot, which posts just fine. For the money I'm paying, I should have gotten a better quality inspected GPU, but instead, I got a damaged and non-working GPU. I will be making a return on this GPU. This also appears to be a chassis from an RTX 4090, just re-labeled as an RTX 5090.

Kicking myself for not buying it when it was only $500 over msrp. Insane upgrade over my old 3080 10gb. It was still able to carry most modern games at 4k with DLSS, but jumping to this has been one of the single biggest leaps I’ve made in twenty years of custom builds. Extremely good overclocker as well, even with stock volts and cooling. Highly recommended if gaming on a 4k OLED or interested in AI rendering.

It is a bit weird that there really aren't any reviews aside from the one video from der8auer that I found on youtube. So here is my take on it so far. Performance: In terms of FPS all the AIBs for the RTX 4090 are pretty similar. Maybe 3-5% higher than the founders in FPS based on their specific OC's...so suffice to say, this card performs no less. I get 80-90 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with Overdrive Ray Tracing and DLSS on. Temp: While under load or while playing games like Cyberpunk, I am seeing max temps in the low 60Cs and average around 55C. Hotspot and memory temps stayed cool around the mid to high 60s. Noise: First thing, my Aorus Master has ZERO coil whine. I understand coil whine may be tied to what motherboard, PSU and GPU combo you have. I have a Crosshair viii dark hero (mobo), TUF 1000W ATX 3.0 (PSU) if that helps anyone making the decision. To set the context...I have owned and returned both the 4090 FE and 4090 ROG Strix, because both had way too much coil whine. It was so bad that even on load screens for Hogwarts or Cyberpunk it would sound like techno music coming out of my case. The whine is a hard to describe noise...but it IS unpleasant and in my case it changed in pitch and tone based on the power draw and load on the GPU. So you'd hear techno during the load screen then it'd turn into a constant whine in game. To be fair, most people play with headphones (including myself) or could just change their fan curve and drown it out (at this point your rig is no longer quiet). Also it bears mentioning the whine on both the FE/Strix didn't get less over time, you just stop noticing it because you just get used to it. Personally at this price point, that amount of coil whine is unacceptable. Back to the Aorus Master, I didn't change any fan curves and left it on the performance BIOS setting and the fan noise is barely noticeable to me. I'll take fans ramping up and down over techno music any day. I imagine you could probably tweak the curve if you wanted to lower the fan speeds to make them more consistent and quieter but I don't care enough to go that far. Software: I have not had any issues with the software that controls the RGB or screen on the AORUS. I use Fan Control to control my case/cpu fans, Signalrgb for RGB on the Mobo/Ram and have left the fan curve to the performance BIOS with no issues with conflicts at all. Look (totally subjective): I think the asymmetrical look horizontally is not my cup of tea. This GPU looks a lot cooler while mounted vertically but then you can't see the screen anymore, so the tradeoff is up to you. I also don't think the LED implementation on this looks as good as the Strix or as sleek as the Founders Edition. Conclusion: All in all I think this gives the best performance/cooling while still remaining quiet. You can decide for yourself what matters the most to you. And make sure this fits in the mounting configuration you are planning for. It is both long and THICC. Happy GPU shopping; at least you can buy GPUs at ridiculous MSRP prices now as stocks are improving...
