  • A must have for quick and humane kills
Size: 0.177 Caliber
These are a must have for pest control. Not only do they quickly and humanely dispatch the target, but they tend to drop prey right where you hit them so there's not much tracking after the shot. They are plenty accurate for squirrels up to 50 yards in .177 out of my budget Beeman Raider, and they are heavy enough to stay subsonic, keeping the noise level down. I have used other hollow points and pointed tip pellets with pretty decent success, but the H&Ns just knock them down quicker. I'm getting through and through shots with devastating exit wounds. You can hear how much harder they hit compared to the other pellets I've tried. ... show more

  • Very Accurate
Size: 0.177 Caliber
I tried 11 different types of pellets in my rifle (Gamo Varmint) and it was only shooting well with 2, the Gamo hunter and the Meisterkugeln Match. The problem with these 2 types of pellets is that they were too light. I was hitting squirrels and they would drop, then get up and run away. I decided to try the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme and boy was I impressed. I’m getting 0.6” groups at 30 yards. Not only that, I have dropped 4 squirrels already and none of them have ran away after being hit. Awesome pellets, they’re a bit expensive but it’s worth the price. I spent a lot more $ trying to find a type of pellet that my rifle would like. Finally I found it and I plan to buy it again ... show more

  • good product
Size: 0.177 Caliber
I recently bought these pallets for my pellet gun that shoots 1000 ft./s and I sited the gun in with these pellets they seem fairly accurate however every so often when doing targets I noticed a little deviation not sure if it's the pellet or me

  • Very accurate and devastating pellets with a Magnum
Size: One Size
My 1st Generation .22 GAMO MAGNUM loves these. These Hunter Extremes are hole in hole accurate at 25 yards in my rifle. I have not been able to test them any further. At 18.52grains my rifle shoots these at an average of 800fps with 35 joules, these pellets pack a big punch and devastating on anything it hits. I recommend them on Magnums or PCP, they need to be pushed close to 800 fps or greater in order to appreciate these heavy pellets. My Magnum does not like any pellets below 18 grains, I tried many pellets, and I wish the terminators were accurate in my rifle, only because the weight is just right and my Magnum launches them at 900 fps with 33 joules but accuracy is no bueno. Another devastating pellet is the H&N baracuda hunter hollow point 18.21 grain. Very accurate in my rifle with the same velocity, but as you can see in my pictures the baracuda hunter ridiculously expand. They expand even more than the hunter extremes but the extremes seem to penetrate a little further and have a small noticeable larger shockwave, if that makes any sense. I also added a picture with a bar of soap that the hunter extreme had hit at 25 yards, amazing result. Like I said, if your rifle can push these at about 800fps or even launch these bad boys greater than 25 joules then you should definitely give them a try and see if your rifle will like them. ... show more

  • Raccoons. Ruger Impact Max .22. 15-30 Meters.
Size: One Size
Urban Raccoons: MASSIVE, well-fed, highly aggressive, highly intelligent rats with teeth which can tear a three-year-old apart and that can use doorknobs. We have someone in our neighborhood who, until recently, fed them for 10 years. No one could figure out why they were so consistently attacking neighborhood dogs and cats and beheading kittens. (These are the facts. You couldn’t make this stuff up.) The unwise and illegal practice has since ceased, which has increased their aggression and visibility, but also makes it simpler to provide them with a more existential option, going forward. Alloys, “green” pellets; ineffective. H&M Barracuda 18 grain hollow point; highly effective. I recently wanted to try the H&N Sniper rounds because when I encounter these animals, often I surprise them at extremely close range, 10 to 15 m, and if I don’t drop them with the first shot, which with an 18 grain pellet is rare but it happens, I need to be able to reach them before they go over the last wall which is about 30 m away. This rifle is a break barrel spring/piston which gives me the best possible velocity below pcp, and I have been able to get off three shots in that distance if I need to. But I’m always concerned about that last shot both hitting the mark and turning them off, efficiently. So up near the chamber, I have pellets mounted in rubber where I can access them quickly, and I was going to switch to a longer range pellet if it gave me better accuracy at distance. I did not find that to be the case with the H&N Sniper with this rifle. It’s problematic to mix ammunition I realize, but sometimes it can work. But in this case it does not. I’m already getting 1 inch groups at 15 m and about 1 1/2 to 2 inch groups at 25 m with the H&N barracuda. (This is all hand-held. I’m, you know, not hunting raccoons from the bench.) The Sniper did not improve on this. I’m sure it would be fine if you only used that round by it self. But I need a more versatile option. I’ll be staying with the Barracudas with this rifle. I will say this; I got tight groups at distance with the Sniper, just not consistently both short and long, so if you’re not doing CQB with raccoons with a single shot (me, not the raccoons :), and are reaching out to touch something at a much greater distance, then as the name implies, the Sniper may work for you. However… from what I have seen, the Sniper is about penetration not so much about knockdown. When the Barracuda hits, it actually sounds like the target got punched. Hard. So after experimenting with many many different types; H&N hornets, Crossman rockets, Crossman Premier hollow points, Diablos, Gamo Red fires (seriously?), Ruger super points, now H&N Snipers, the H&N Barracuda is by far the best. It’s actually heavier at 18.5 than the 17.9 Sniper. And here’s the clincher for me with the Barracuda with a .22 caliber up around 800fps the HNB (that’s what I call them) does not behave like a typical hollow point, it opens up and has “teeth“, hence the name I suppose. The Sniper penetrates but when you’re trying to bring down an aggressive animal that’s not all you need. I rolled a raccoon at 15’ with a Barracuda. I have resolved the existential problem for a number of raccoons at varying distances with this pellet, and the vast majority have been one shot – one kill. But if you need a second round, unless stuff goes really sideways, you won’t need a third. Tip: raccoons are smart but they do not understand barrel-mounted tactical flashlights. It’s like a freeze-ray. Put the red dot between the two gold dots. You’re welcome. —- Update: So... since I posted the above review, I bought an Hatsan Flash .22 PCP. It LOVES these things. ... show more
