  • Beautiful
Style: RTX5080|OC Size: ROG Astral
I’ve had this card for about a week now. Upgraded from a 7800XT Nitro+ and this is Hands down the best looking card out there. Good contender for one of the heaviest cards out there. From the moment you pick it up you can feel the quality barely any plastic at all… As for the temps it barely goes over the 60s on full load. The OC experience was great on my Sapphire Nitro+ but the ASTRAL is next level, super power efficient. GPU tweak is nice and gives you a heads up if your cables are working correctly. Although MSI Afterburner is still my preferred software. The sag bracket/screwdriver that comes with the GPU is a must! They also hilariously give you a ruler and a power adapter. Make sure you give the adaptor more than enough space on the front to hang freely. You don’t want your case pushing up on it, make sure you have more enough room in ur case… The 16GB of VRAM is disappointing and as for the price… STUPID even at MSRP. This card is really aimed towards PC enthusiast and anybody looking for a long term quality upgrade. Make sure to uninstall any old drivers, and do a fresh driver install. I’ve seen some people even go as far as having a fresh Windows11 install. I didn’t have any performance or driver problems with my card. It is also recommended if you use the power adaptor that comes with the card DO NOT daisy chain any of the plug-ins! Rookie mistake of me not making sure I had another compatible cable with my PSU for that third connection. Over all you shouldn’t have too many problems with this card unless you’re doing something completely wrong. (NOTE: I did use only two power connectors one daisy chained for the first 2 days I got the card, until I got another cable. I do not recommend this, my card showed displayed a red light next to the power connection while my system was off. As soon as I got my other cable I installed it and the light went away.) ... show more

  • Strong performer, full featured 4k gaming GPU for a hefty pricetag.
Style: RTX5080|OC Size: TUF Gaming
Expensive, but you know that already if you're looking a 5080. Replaced my 3080 with this and very large gains in all games. Very large card make sure you have the space inside your tower and in the back for the 3 slots. While in my desktop, even with 3 monitors multitasking, the fans never even need to turn on because it idles very cool. Even when gaming the fans at 40-60% rpm are very quiet. I don't think I've seen it go over 70% rpm speed in the latest games. Had no missing ROPs, hopefully that issue was limited to very early cards. VRAM of 16gb is a welcome improvement over the 10GB I had on my 3080 which was limiting the more games that keep coming out since I run games at 4k. Runs almost all of my games with great fps at 4k resolution, with and without DLSS depending on the game and usage of Ray tracing settings and how optimized the game is. With some more maturity in the 50 series drivers it should keep strong performance for quite a few years. Overall a great upgrade from my 3080 from 4 years ago, if you're on a 40 series card it's not worth it most likely especially for the current cost. ... show more

  • Awesome, but very expensive card.
Style: RTX5080|OC Size: TUF Gaming
Just installed this GPU last night, and it's been great so far (although I haven't had much time to game with it yet). It's pretty dang big so make sure that it will fit in your case. I paid $1500 for it sadly, which was the price Amazon sold it for but that's pretty on par with what scalpers are asking for on eBay, so I forked over the money. The state of the pricing and supply in the GPU market is absolutely insane and Nvidia should be ashamed of themselves, but ignoring those problems the card is good so far. All games I've tested and played have run flawlessly on the highest graphics settings at 1440p with very high frame rates, and I might even upgrade to 4k at some point. Hopefully it'll be good to go for years to come, and I know it will be very helpful when I'm doing intense video editing and rendering. Will update this review if I have any issues. ... show more

  • Marginal upgrade from RTX 4080 Super
Style: RTX5080|OC Size: ROG Astral
This card is great on Performance mode, but you must have realistic expectations about overclocking it further than what it already does. YouTubers claim this cards can reach 3200Mhz, but my card becomes unstable at 3000Mhz (Direct X reported errors that the card was unresponsive which caused the crash). Not a deal breaker - consider it a public announcement. Despite the card having the latest BIOS update from ASUS, I have yet to see this card pull more than 370W. The card shows marginal performance boosts over the RTX 4080 Super, maybe 5-10 FPS depending on the game. Overall, I'm satisfied with this card because a buddy of mine got my RTX 4080 Super in the process. I only have dissatisfaction over the sensationalism claiming this card can be significantly overclocked on top of what ASUS already does. ... show more

  • It's just AWESOME!
Style: RTX5080|OC Size: ROG Astral
Just received my 5080 today and I gotta say.... WOW! Not only is it a beautiful gpu but man is it heavy. The performance of this thing is crazy and all the games I threw at it ran flawlessly at 1440p. I have not been able to test 4k because i do not own a 4k monitor currently but to me 1440p is perfect. The temps always stay low (around 59c) under high loads and I'm just all around impressed. The build quality is top notch featuring a unibody all metal design with sensors that detect if there is an issue when plugging in the 12V-2x6 power connector when using the GPU Tweak 3 software. (Monster Hunter Wilds benchmark test was done using factory clock settings out of the box and no frame gen.) Update: forgot to mention i do have all rops and i can max out the overclocking on it and it takes it like a beast with no artifacting or stuttering during heavy benchmark tests! MAKE SURE TO CHECK FOR MISSING ROPS! ... show more
