The price is not forgivable. It is a profound exploitation of an unfair system and a manipulated economy. Besides that, this card has EVERYTHING! Compared to a 4070, it is a substantial upgrade mainly for two reasons: Memory size Memory speed Ray tracing + AI acceleration The cooling The cooling is especially well designed. It's precisely measured to fit perfectly between your rear and front fans, and even has its own PWM fan pins, allowing you to divert power on front fans to the GPU power line instead of the potentially weaker motherboard pins. They'll also respond to the GPU, which is usually silent... And almost silent under load, under ideal conditions! I have no reasons to doubt its structural or electrical integrity whatsoever. I would have paid $700 for the value. I would not have paid an extra >$1300 just to fund some sociopathic greedy billionaire psychos that want to kill you and replace you with AI. What a great card. I went from a 3080ti to the 5080. Probably due to the 4rh fan, thing thing runs cooler than my old card. It is MASSIVE, so keep that in mind. I haven't even bothered overclocking it, because it's a 5080. I mainly play Star Citizen on the PC. Old card would give me about 70-90 fps on average. The 5080 gives me about 100-120 fps. And if you have any experience with Star Citizen, you would know that those are crazy results. It's definitely on the more expensive end, but honestly at the price I paid for it, it was worth it for me. 100% buy a gpu bracket. It's very heavy. ... show more

This is a fantastic product! The Astral specifically has wonderful cooling and shockingly quiet. I added this to my entirely Be Quiet! brand build and it absolutely competes with all of their products as far as efficiency and noise level. It does need support from your motherboard or use the included graphics card support piece, the droop is no joke on the massive sized card. After browsing a few different versions of the 5080 I think this is the best graphics to price ratio you can get! ... show more

Performance: I must've won the silicon lottery because I can OC this card from it's own boost ~2750 to 3200 Mhz. Same with the ram, I can add 1286 Mhz OC. Runs nearly every game I have at 4k ultra with just DLSS (no frame Gen) and get 90-120 fps (Ghosts of Tsushima, Helldiver's 2, for example). Cyberpunk is a bit tougher but at 4k ultra/psycho, full RT and path tracing (only DLSS) I still get ~44 fps without frame Gen (70 w/full RT but no path tracing). With frame genx2 and everything maxed it's closer to 80. Not too shabby. Although it would be great if the card could do this natively, it still looks insane in these circumstances. Noise level: The fans are LOUD. If you limit fan speed to ~70% max it'll still keep the GPU ~65°C and the memory in the mid-50's without the noise being too bad. Good cooling indeed. Ease of installation: Not very much customization can be done with the RGB, the options are very limited in Armoury Crate. Maybe other RGB controllers would do more? I dunno. Very, very heavy, like 6 pounds. But well built for sure (except the stickers in the center of the fans aren't perfectly lined up). An extra HDMI port is also nice. And per pin monitoring for the 12VHpwr is a must these days. Can only get it on Astral GPUs. Overall, more like a 4.5/5 because it does leave a few nitpicky things to be desired. Also, I only paid $1650 for the OC version before it was again jacked up to $1800 which is even more ludicrous ... show more
