I'm not really a Mac fan. (I don't like Windows either) and I never thought I'd even own a Macbook but I wrote a smartphone app for my company and it needed to be available for both platforms. Since I'll need to make changes to the app and republish to both App Store and Google Play, I needed a Mac computer in order to do that. All in all, it's a better machine than I thought it would be. I love the laptop that I received. Amazon screwed me over with delivery, but the seller shipped and did their part and was amazing. This has minimal scratches, looks brand new honestly. I will be back after a month to see how it is after some time! If you’re thinking of buying, do it.

I am using this laptop currently. I was not impressed with the battery life. Quality of Apple speaks for itself. The shift key is starting to stick. Not the greatest value for my money. Screen is an great shape, its functional , but in the future I would buy a new one instead of refurbished. I will probably end up having to buy a battery which is not cool ... show more

    • Had hopes for this
I REALLY wanted to like this! This was a gift for my husband, because his laptop (not Apple) crashed. So he needs a new one. I have this same exact model/year Macbook pro assigned to me from my job, and I love it. I've had it for almost 5 years and it has never had a thing go wrong with it and works beautifully. So I figured the same model and year for my husband that was refurbished would do perfectly too. Unfortunately, as soon as I got it out of the box and plugged it in, it told me immediately the battery needed servicing and the battery would not charge at all. That meant we couldn't use the computer without it plugged in (i tried). It showed 22% the whole time i had it plugged in, whereas with my laptop for work, it charges extremely fast and you can see the percentage go up rather quickly, so i knew something was wrong. Then I tried to update the software to the current sequoia release, and it would start downloading it then when I would go back and check on the progress, it would have stopped the download and said it was "searching for update". Not good signs for just opening a laptop i thought would be "like new". I would've given this 1 star but gave it 2 because customer service was very quick in offering a full refund. So i packed this back up and will be mailing back. We are just going to bite the bullet and buy a brand new one from Walmart - their's is on sale right now. ... show more
