I received the laptop fast which was nice. However upon taking it out of the box it didn’t turn on. I plugged it in and it started up. It was kind of slow, however it wasn’t terrible. I plugged it in overnight to charge for my school day ahead of me. I got to class and tried starting it to find that it would not. Luckily I brought the charger and plugged it in to which it started up! I noticed if I unplugged it though, the laptop would shut off completely. It was described as “excellent”, but was not. I purchased a refurbished MacBook Pro with the expectation that it would reflect the “excellent condition” promised. While the laptop itself functions as expected, the overall presentation and included components fell significantly short of acceptable standards. First, the device arrived dirty, with flecks of dirt scattered across the surface. I had to clean it myself — not exactly the first impression one hopes for when investing in a high-priced piece of technology, even if it is refurbished. It’s baffling that basic cleaning wasn’t part of the refurbishment process. Then, we come to the charger. The charger is not just faulty; it’s completely unusable. The wire appears damaged, almost as though it has been exposed to extreme heat, and it simply doesn’t charge the device. For a product marketed as refurbished to “like-new” standards, this is inexcusable. I don’t have another charger for this model, leaving me with a functioning laptop that I cannot use. Refurbished doesn’t mean “secondhand chaos.” It means a device restored to proper working condition with care and attention to detail. The dirt, the broken charger, and the lack of quality control indicate otherwise. This isn’t just disappointing — it’s a failure to meet even the minimum expectations for a product of this caliber. I was highly suspicious of ordering renewed products. I compared products, prices, models, reviews. The reviews are what sold me. From what I could find, BuySPRY had the most solid customer reviews so I bought the laptop from them. My laptop arrived and it was perfect. It did not come with the original packaging as some have mentioned, but I didn’t need or expect it to. As noted in the description it came with a compatible battery and not an Apple battery. There is one very minor scratch on the bottom of the laptop that is very hard to see unless a light is shined directly on it. It works fine and so far no issues with it or signing into iCloud. There is a message in settings that The battery is significantly degraded and needs to be taken to an authorized Apple location for repair. I would’ve thought the device would’ve been thoroughly inspected before selling.
